letter to an old friend

i used to love you, you know ?

and sometimes i think i still do

but when the war of our thoughts came to an end,

i knew our friendship was the biggest loss.

and for us, all my life i've tried to fight

you were the person i cared most about,

and i told you by your side at all costs, i'll be.

but i lied,

i didn't stay by your side because when i'd try

the silence between us would sting too hard

or maybe was it the echoes of your mind ?

im glad that no harsh words were exchanged,

when everything ended in the blink of an eye.

but when you smudged our names written on the palm of your hands,

crawling up to my bones, the dread, i felt.

i knew it was the demand of a thousand memories,

wishing to be released from the back of our heads

i will miss you forever,

for ever you will be my dearest friend.
