My Dad 😎

I love my dad guys.

Ignoring the fact that he's overall just a chill guy, he's literally a Pinterest girl in a 50 yrold man's body. No joke back in like 2021 he got REALLY into indie music. I'd wake up to him playing songs like "Tongue Tied" and "Are You Bored Yet". His explanation was "it's hard to get bored of".

A year later he literally had a Harry Styles phase. No joke I come home one day and he askes me "have you heard about this guy, Harry Styles?" Now I was never huge on Harry Styles before, But I was still kind of surprised by how much he liked Harry Styles. He mostly loved some of his old work and the "Harry's House" Album. And for the next year and a half he would play either Harry Styles, Taylor Swift and sometimes Chappell Roan or Sabrina Carpenter in the car.

I'm pretty sure that he doesn't know that his music taste is the type of thing that your average teenage girl would have on their Spotify playlist. He doesn't even use social media that much. The closest thing he has is Instagram, which most of the stuff that comes up for him are AI Donald trump videos which he loves laughing his ass to because he uses trump as a laughing stock. So I'm 90% sure he's not aware.

What's crazy to me is that when he was my age he was a heavy rock metal fan. I'm talking Metallica, Ozzy Osborne, some nirvana. He was literally part of the official Metallica fan group back in the day, and he gave me this card and envelope where he received signatures and posters from the band. He has said posters framed in his garage. Pictures of the band members when they were younger (I'm not huge in metal but I have close friends who love it). So the fact that now he listens to Taylor Swift 35 years later is wildd.

His music taste was also completely different before Covid. Like I remember him playing Christian songs and coldplay back when I was around 10. His music taste was pretty mainstream for that time. I grew up with Adelle, some Bejonce, Dua Lipa, Katy Perry (I love Katy Perry and Dua Lipa, "New Rules" and "Dark Horse" music videos were my gay awakening)

NOW he's been obsessed with Sombr's songs?! Istg I've listened to "undressed" and "back to being friends" like 10 times at this point. A few months ago he was really into cigarettes after sex, and some arctic monkeys. I mean they have some amazing music don't get me wrong. You just wouldn't assume a 50 year old divorced Christian man with 2 teenage/post-teenage kids would listen to that kind of music. 

But I'm very proud of my father. I had a date with my crush the other day (tehe) and I told her abit about my dad and she already wants to meet him. So I have succeeded in life.

When I was saying that he was a Pinterest girl, I was NOT joking. The house is literally a beige heaven. The whole house looks like it could be in a netflix film. And its also always clean for some reason. It's like he's allergic to mess. I'm not complaining but I'm not really the tidiest person in the world so he does get abit irritated since my room is always a mess. He's also the kind of guy that would be REALLY into thrifting. But we don't have any good thrift stores in our country.

Literally just a few minutes ago his Spotify recommended him "Golden" from K-Pop Demon Hunters.

So yeah my dad is cool and you're all jealous >:3.
