only homestuck would be getting into MESS like this OMG... like come on now.
to be honest, after the [S] ACT 7 stuff went up, i stopped reading/following along with homestuck canon. dude... like... let it be over. ik it was so influential, but like... after all of this time it just kinda spiralled into "hey guys lets make it all suck even more". i definitely don't think the original comic is AWESOME and without flaws - hell, look at damara and many other instances where andrew hussie was an asshole.
personally, i think homestuck as a brand should be laid to rest. i lowkey feel like fanwork has kinda carried homestuck to this point. i got into fantrolls and independent artists' fan sessions and that's what i still like to this day! the fantroll brainrot...
the whole stuff with gio or whatever is crazy too. the blogs were so long 😭. i definitely dont agree with the attitude of hussie - i get that it's his life's work but to attempt to seize something someone else worked on seems kinda scummy. people are saying that gio person harrassed people? but i'm not seeing much concrete proof about that. not saying he's a fantastic guy either (see: the long tirades about how this is like abusing ur wife 😭)

tbh I agree completely w your view, as a self identified ex-homestuck fan, I also think it should be laid to rest.. personally, I don't like homestuck anymore mostly because I know there are things out there more meaningful to me that I'd rather give my energy to. but all power to fan artists and fantroll creators, they've absolutely carried the homestuck fandom & brand
I generally just stay away from internet drama bc in almost every case most of these ppl should not have the amount of clout and influence they have in the first place :/
also idk if you heard but it is absolutely WILD that there's an animated homestuck show coming out in the year 2025 like. it feels like an evil curse being released on the world GJSHSF
I DID JUST SEE THE HOMESTUCK PILOT DROP… NOT FUCKING VIVZIE POP OH MY GOD homestuck fans plus hazbin fans is like the perfect recipe for the most annoying fandom ever whatever whatever im never going to a convention again LOL /j

Whats the drama?
Personally, I stopped reading near the beginning of the epilogues because they were kinda boring. Learning hussie isnt even writing homestuck anymore kind of baffled me and it kind of clicked why i didnt like the epilogues
