✨YOU GUYS. Be so serious for one second. Treasure Planet is hands down one of the most fabulous Disney movies to EVER exist. I’m talking elite-tier cinema. ICONIC. ✨ 

Like hellooo?? Everything about it is perfect. The vibe?? Space adventure but make it stylish. The animation?? A mix of hand-drawn and sci-fi CGI deliciousness. The soundtrack?? BABE… chef’s kiss. This movie did NOT come to play. 

Let’s talk about Jim Hawkins for a second because—whew.

This boy was IT. My first Disney crush and honestly still on the roster. Tall, tan, and handsome with that little bad boy charm? The smirk, the attitude, the confidence?? I was OBSESSED. He had that “I don’t care but secretly I care so much” energy and I ate it UP. The solar surfer scenes?? Babe, that was art. Literal chills. 

And now let’s get into the SONG. 

I’m Still Here by John Rzeznik (yes, the lead from Goo Goo Dolls—HELLOOO??) 

Like… this song did not have to go that hard for a kids’ movie. The vocals? Powerful. The lyrics? Deep but also catchy AF. The guitars?? Giving drama and sparkle at the same time. You’re telling me a movie for children had a full rock ballad about independence and identity? Ugh, we were SPOILED. 

Also can we talk about the singer? 

JOHN RZEZNIK?? Baddie. Rockstar. Fine as hell. He had that messy early 2000s hair and the pouty rockstar lips. I would’ve 100% printed his picture off Google Images and stuck it in my Lisa Frank notebook. Don’t play with me. 

Everything about Treasure Planet is iconic: 💎 The space ships that look like pirate ships?? Love. 

💎 The star maps with golden portals?? Obsessed. 

💎 Morph, that little pink shape-shifting cutie?? GIVE HIM A SPINOFF. 

💎 Long John Silver and Jim’s mentorship?? Unexpectedly sweet, not gonna lie. 

This movie really said, “What if we made a futuristic pirate movie with daddy issues, high fashion animation, AND a fire soundtrack?” and they DELIVERED. 

Like how did this flop at the box office??? Y’all weren’t ready. That’s the problem. 

But we, the baddies with taste, WE KNOW THE TRUTH.
