I think the internet is sort of over. I think it has been for a while. At the very least, it's no longer 'social' media, rather, it's just media. We aren't a part of it anymore. Which is ironic considering our lives are always online; somehow we are all always online, yet we're always sort of alone while we do it.
Then I found this website earlier today, and it's cool. Not because of nostalgia bait, or because it looks retro (though those do help) but because it has the 'social' everywhere else is missing. There's no algorithm, nobody is selling me anything, it's a genuine social platform, without the media clouding it. To that I say hell yeah.

You are so right. I feel like people on instagram or tiktok are not real and i am not having a real connection with people. I always feel alone because of that. But here you can ACTUALLY socialize.

I used to come on the internet to escape real life. Now I have to go out to escape the internet

I still love this site, but what you're talking about is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you're right, the fact that there's no algorithm behind it gives it that air of sociability, but it also makes it a little more difficult for people to talk to each other (although all of that doesn't matter when you see the amount of customization you can have practically everywhere)
