Bonnie-blue stars
litter these country roads now
as if showered from the sky.
Chicory
confetti strewn about
from Summer's latest celebration.
The tired lilies have left the party already
(it's just too late for them)
bowing out for the brash new wave -
white Lace parasols everywhere
mixed with glints of gold and yellow
(catching the last of the season's rays)
here to see (to be) the show.
