Bitten Love

Where blossoms once bloomed,
honeysuckle weaved
in arched-way gardens
exuding heady perfume
floral bouquets
gardenias, freesias spray
in opalescent hues
love's sweet serenade
younger days; those hunger days...
as time's span ran its course
those innocent darlings
were no more
in Life's wisdom
hardened, bitten,
whipping brutal lacerations
of serpentine tongue
as meteor fires collide
cause-effecting foundations
where allies once aligned
rock solid amalgamation
withered, died; forsaken
bitten love
written in blood.
