Grind Fiction doesn't really have an exact definition, but to me it falls under skate punk and extreme sports aesthetics, street fashion, and EDM as well as various other music genres. The main theme of Grind Fiction is definitely self-expression - expressing yourself through fashion, alternative modes of transportation (self-propelled vehicles like roller skates and skateboards, as well as various futuristic gadgets and parkour). Often, these efforts of self-expression are met by oppressive government which they rebel against.
A lot of media falls under Grind Fiction. There are games like Jet Set Radio, Splatoon, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and whatnot, as well as animanga like Air Gear.

I don't understand why this aesthetic is so appealing to me? Like it's just the epitome of cool. I've been studying artwork from these series for a while now, and though I don't have anything to show, I think it's made an impact on how I think about art, even influencing my own personal sense of fashion.
I'm thinking of buying roller skates soon. Like, I haven't been skating since I was like 8. I think it'd be a fun change of pace.
