Going to new york in a week! what places/foods should i check out?

Hi! im welsh and have only ever been to spain and italy, im going to new york soon in a week which is SUPER exciting for me :D! any places or american foods i should check out? i am 100% gonna stock up on all the super like diabeto foods i have been missing out on XD! my ma says i should find some cool places i can go to in new york too! any suggestions?
