theres a few ive missed off here bcus i dont have image proof,, i have reached out to some people to gather some more but some things i think are just lost to time... or in my phone that i wrote off a couple years ago. #phoneinrivergate
i started trying to do this in date order but that went down the drain quite quickly didnt it
DOBA
this happened back in august 2023, exactly 2 years to this day (of writing, 05/aug/2025). this was so much fun and ive experienced nothing else like it since - we watched a story unfold with a vague emo theme, through bulletins and blogs and messages. i to this day have no idea who organised it, thank you if you see this, this gave 14yo me and my friends the best time. if there are any other survivors of this please reach out in the comments,, everyone else i experienced this with has since gone inactive and sometimes im scared i hallucinated this whole thing.....
DREAM NEW USERS SPAM
im not sure when this was (i assume december 2023??? edit: 5/dec/23) but it was so fucking funny for no reason. there were so many more dreams than that but they got nuked by mods (understandably). also i just noticed elon musk there what the fuck was going on
SPACEHEY TEA (& AND SIMILAR EPISODES)
"spacehey tea" was an account that created a blog to "expose" spacehey users. i unfortunately have no image evidence of this event, but if i remember correctly, one of these such exposures involved outing a gay male as..... a fetishist.... of gay men...... this went down about as well as expected and was struck by the ban hammer swiftly but it did fuel a microgenre of accounts that have reared their ugly heads only a few times since.
users would send in confessions to be revealed anonymously, or in the case of the ship accounts, they would post bulletins shipping 2 spacehey users (does what it says on the tin really), who were normally conveniently already dating. spacehey moderation were not fans but they were fun while they lasted
GARRET & THE POSER EMOS
an
incident similar in nature to that of valentine's day 2024, but that
took place before it. garret here was very upset with the amount of
"poser emos" that were on spacehey, and took to a blog to express this.
the general concensus was that garret had quite high standards for what
it meant to be emo, and that if you listened to certain popular emo
bands, you were a poser.
one particular comment he made slandered fans of "panic at the dogshit". i still reguarly laugh about panic at the dogshit.
i
did a similar essay response to this blog as i did to gee/cal the
silly's blog, but i didnt screenshot it unfortunately. garret did not
seem a fan, and i distinctly remember him calling it an "ai paragraph"
(rude, i put hard work into it and would never use generative ai),
saying my "profile looks like aids" and that he was going to kms because
of me. i was not the only one he found frustration with.
he was swiftly banned, but not before the link was sent sitewide and it was the top blog.
SPACEHEY MOBILE LAUNCH
for as long as i had been on spacehey, users had been CLAMOURING to get a spacehey app. when this was announced, after being teased for ages by an (my jokey frustration with which i accidentally phrased in the most bratty way possible),
it sent SHOCKWAVES through the community,, especially with the announcement of the "first 5k users" badge. i think i had to borrow my mum's phone or something to get the badge cus my one didnt have the latest software so i couldnt install it
and after months of begging, very few people seemed to actually like it and as far as im aware not that many people use the site via it??? but the release was a lot of fun, so much hype and then it all fizzled away pretty quick. i like the app, it looks really nice, but ive never been able to get notifs to work on it properly, and besides i use a nokia as my day-to-day mobile phone now so i can't get it on there.
VALENTINE'S DAY 2024
i
am very carefully blacking this out for multiple reasons. the first is
that it said some really horrible things that should never be said to a
person ever at all and i dont think should even be reposted for the sake
of quoting it. ive left just enough for you to get the picture, and
also the funny bits like "fucling" and "ran over by a vehicle" LMAO. the
second reason is that the amount of times this blog got reposted after
the user got banned led to this blog by hooterbby
so
mods if u want me to remove this bit from the blog pls lmk and i will,,
pls my acc is nearly 2 and a half years old and i cherish that greatly i
dont want it banned.......
anyways the first
blog obviously sparked mass ridicule from literally everyone,,, like the
link was being sent to all ur mutuals and their grandmother and
everyone was dunking on them in the comments. i need to shout out my own
respose rq cus i had the most fun time writing it. please enjoy my

have to say, spacehey mods have upped their game bcus there's no way
this could happen now, they would probably be banned in under an hour,
much less the 3 that it took for this to unfold. congratulations on the
efficency and effectiveness of your work at the moderation team, havent
seen a crazy like this on the loose in a while
SYMBOLS ISSUES
29th march 2024, the day spacehey had a moment and all the symbols in people's names became.... well.... i actually dont know why it did this at all and if you understand please tell me why because im still curious.
SPACEHEY SUMMER BASH 2024
THIS WAS SO COOL OMG!!! this event was run by xeviant/solvalou, and consisted of challenges and activites over the course of a few weeks. at the end were the spacehey awards, where a google form was sent around and people nominated who they wanted to win in various categories, including silliest user, funniest user and best artist.
there was also one for coolest layout, won by yours truly.....
(i dont have the same layout now btw,, but im considering going back to the one i had at the time)
there have been other attempts at doing spacehey awards since, but none have seemed to work as well as they did back in the shsb. all the kudos to the organisers for pulling it off!!
INSPIRATIONAL BREAKING BAD QUOTE
i love inspirational breaking bad quote (real). ive never watched breaking bad but my granny is watching it at the moment and seems to love it. ive felt uninspired ever since the quote stopped changing, rip whoever ran the inspirational breaking bad quote (real) page

The only memorable event I've been through was when the images disappeared for like, a week straight and everyone was slowly going insane because of how ugly the layouts were. (June 15-june 23 2025)
