New "alternative people" piss me off

Hard launch and I can't stop ranting abt this just bc it irks me to my coreeeee. I adore being alternative and having new genuine members in the community, but what I mean by the new "alternative people", are the people who started being alt just bc it turned into a "trend".  I've seen this widespread thing where they will trend hop onto it and actually bully members within the community for their interests. They make fun of people who are into things that are not up to their "par" of what's socially acceptable to like. It makes me so mad when I see it, because one of the whole points of being alternative is to be out of the norm/authentically yourself. I've been alt for years now and what sucks is I've seen this kind of thing grow so so so much more in recent times. Only time that I ever see it as not irking to call someone's interests weird is when their interests are problematic like proshippers and shit like that. Other than that, why make fun of someone's completely harmless passions?
