are we really in a ressession?

i mean… if you have TikTok and even a hint of media literacy, you’ve definitely seen the posts  "__ and __ in 2025?, we really are in a recession" and then the examples are like… dan and Phil back on the timeline, some girl on tumblr making doctor who gifs, or some guy wearing shutter shades unironically like no offense but just because we’re recycling 2009 culture doesn’t mean the economy’s collapsed. we’re just nostalgic. or maybe chronically online. possibly both.
