Zoos are alright, actually

I went to the zoo with my sister today! I refused to go there for years, because as much as I'm willing to understand, I find the behaviour of some people simply infuriating. Seriously, I once saw a father putting his two- or three-year-old child through the fence in front of a bison's face.

I'm not sure what exactly convinced me to go there, but this time we went there as soon as it opened. At earlier hours there's much fewer people. Therefore, it was much less noisy and you could really enjoy them. After 12 pm or so, families with children began to come and it got too noisy for my liking... The zoo was huge, we walked around the whole zoo for 5 hours straight. Since we were alone, there was no pressure to leave quickly and we could enjoy watching the animals and not just "checking them off the list". I really liked the water birds, while my sister liked the lynx and the penguins. However, we still got almost the entire map checked! Sorry gazelle-alikes, we skipped 7 of you.

Here are my favourite photos I got from today! Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera, so these were taken from my phone and aren't as good as I wish they were.

pingwin

The Humboldt penguin wanted to eat a bug on the other side of the glass.

birb

We found Cannon Thoth, the sacred ibis!

ping

This red panda's named Ping. There was also Pong a couple of years back, but they were transferred.

frog

A Titicaca frog. I was shocked to see a completely aquatic amphibian. I've heard of the species before, but only due to their excessive skin.

jaszczura

This lizard was very cute. I don't have much to say about it.

Thanks for reading!

Yes, I love them! They were actually pretty close up this time and they kept looking at us, I suppose it was because we were the only ones there. They're much fluffier and chonkier in real life than I thought they'd be. They're basically like kitties!
