Hello! This is my first blog post so I wasn't sure what to do (or what I could do) so I thought I'd share a film I made for a class. I made it a while ago but I'm still proud of it!
It's shot on 16mm film using a Bolex.
Hope you enjoy it and would love to hear your thoughts!

this is really cool! i was also wondering how u managed to get a black background on ur blog ?i couldnt find any layots that had it XD
I used this post by ☆ Lizzy ☆ (https://blog.spacehey.com/entry?id=1396260). The code breaks the parts of the blog page to different colors and I changed them with similar lines from my profile. I can't tell you which lines do which because it was just a lot of experimenting with what works and trial and error on my part.

As I said on YT, a little bit of color grading, with maybe a song in the background, and the footage looks really good! I love the homemade style.
Yes I agree. I did a little color correcting and grading on this but I wanted to keep it minimal and natural to fit the nature/outdoors feel and since the colors on film are already really good. However, I think I could have pushed it a little further.
Personally I like it without music however, I did have ambient sounds (of like birds and other nature sounds), but I believe they were too quiet and should have been louder.

this is really cool man! as an animator, i was just thinking of getting into photography and composition. looking at stuff like this made by people around my age gives me so much inspiration. keep making these types of films, they look fun and exciting :D
You definitely should! I imagine a lot of it (ideas, techniques, etc.) will cross over into animation really well and be really good for you as a creative.

oh this is SO cool!!! theres a shot at 2:20 that i think is so artistic with the light and shadows! this film really encapsulated what it feels like to be in the outdoors, its wonderful. ive always wanted to try super 8mm or 16mm for home videos but i only have cameras that take 35mm photos.. id love to see any other film blogs/videos if you end up posting them ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧

Oh my god, I love this video, especially how the sun shines on the rock, creating such an interesting shadow. :3333

was having a really rough night and i'm happy i found this blog while scrolling! your footage is beautiful, i love the warmth it all has. your shot composition is so nice, the spots you put your friends in for each shot are great, like an actually artistic home movie. the shot of the fruit cup really brought me back to childhood. great stuff, thank you for sharing it here !
Thank you so much! It makes me happy to hear how it made you feel, and I hope today will be better for you.

Just checked it out, that's really cool man. Keep creating! I just started shooting film myself, albeit photography lol film is a great avenue tho and I love the softness it has.
That's great! I think shooting in film whether it's video or photo is definitely worth it if you can afford it. I've been meaning to get into film photography but I already spend enough money as is.
