Do you ever get tired of the constant generational conflict on social media? Every day, there seem to be videos of Gen Z and Boomers arguing about who is better. But let's be honest, every generation has flaws and strengths. It frustrates me when older people get upset because younger people don't know about certain things from their generation or when younger people have experienced the same things as them. I don't identify with any particular generation because I appreciate things from all of them. I was born in 1997, so I consider myself a Zillennial - part of a small cohort born in the early 90s to early 2000s that falls between Gen Z and Millennials.
I may not have been born when the original Lion King came out, but I distinctly remember when TRL and 106&Park were major pop culture experiences. I was there when Beyoncé transitioned to a solo career, and I remember sneaking to watch MTV so I could watch reality shows like Next and My Super Sweet Sixteen.
I suggest asking the person you're speaking with about their experiences without being judgmental.

I do agree. I feel like the older generation is extremely harsh and a bit judgmental at times. It's unfair to judge someone that way, and to minimize their experiences because you've experienced something different!
I think it is out of fear. They're seeing the world they once knew and loved, crumple away. It's clear they're scared of the change and trying to hault the process of change; for the sake of a time that's considered dead. It's a bit sad tbh
