girl, interrupted -

i gave girl, interrupted 5 stars because i think its an accurate yet beautiful representation of mental health. each character was memorable and i love how each one had a set of flaws. people in real life aren't perfect and i love that this movie follows that aswell. short summary : a teenager, susanna , is admitted to a mental institution after trying to commit. she meets lisa , a diagnosed sociopath. lisa challenges susannas perception of reality and sanity daily. beautiful movie, though i hate the romantiziation of it.

thirteen -

i gave thirteen 4 stars for personal reasons. its a great movie that i find myself to relate to A LOT. however, watching it with already bad mental health tended to drag me down deeper into that spiral. the ending PISSED ME OFF. dont get me wrong, the ending was great and made sense but it just made me mad. again, all the characters had FLAWS. i loved that. it was a great movie for how low the budget was. short summary : a thirteen year old girl , tracy is entranced by the popular girl, evie. evie introduces tracy to a life with sex, drugs and petty crime. this movie was amazing and relatable. also HATE the romantization of it. its not something that should be normalized or romanticized.

a silent voice -

FIVE STARS. i found both main characters shouko and shoya to be very relatable in many ways. the way this movie conveys mental health is beautiful. the plot and storyline was put well together. i loved how it was able to talk about mental health but also a cute romance story. i loved the ending. short summary : shoya as a child bullies the new deaf student shouko to a point where she transfers. shoya in return gets bullied by his peers. he grows up wanting to commit. he almost does when his mom stops him. he makes it a goal to apologize to shouko. the character devolpment is beautiful and it was an awesome story. 5 stars !
