Any other curly-haired individuals use gel on their hair?

Sometimes I like when my hair dries straight from the shower without putting it up in a pineapple, since that's when it's the most defined. Then, I remember reading that curly hair guide from the r/curlyhair subreddit and how people achieve a defined curl look by applying gel on their hair out the shower, waiting for it to dry, then scrunching their hair to soften the look.

I would really wanna try it, and one of the fan favorite brands are luckily in a store near me for only $4 per 16 oz, so I'm going to try it out once I get the time to head over there! I may post updates, but it'll probably be brief since I don't post pictures of myself like that, lol.

i have 3a curls on a good day and i use the NYM sculpting gel. i use a curl cream as well and the two combined hold my curls pretty well. i usually diffuse until slightly damp and let it air dry and wash my hair every 2-3 days.

Oh, I'm a 3B myself! I was planning on using both my current curl cream and the gel when I get it together, but I typically pat my hair damp with a towel and let it air dry the rest of the time.

i like diffusing cause it gives me more volume. when i air dry my curls become flat and sad. also, sometimes using both curl cream and curl gel may be too much depending on your hair thickness, so start off using just a little bit of gel and see where it goes. my worst hair day ever was when i used WAY too much gel for my already short hair and woke up with sticky, rock hard curls that were just so greasy looking that i had to redo my entire routine when i already woke up late.

Yes, it works, you can do it "baby Liz" ou "tesourinha" (I don't know what this is called in English) Depending on the type of definition you want, I used the cream and gel from Salon Lane and it works.
