Our Livelihoods May Be in Danger

Let's talk about the next really big thing, Artificial Intelligence. If you are someone who has been using social media in the past few months, you would also likely be seeing the increase in A.I. videos, and how they have become much more realistic than before. This may not seem like much of an issue, but trust me, it is.

The first time I had this realization was when I was scrolling through my ForYou page, and I came across a video of this guy asking, "What's wrong with this photo?". Since It was just a photograph of four college students in front of their school, I didn't see anything wrong with it. That was until he pointed out that it was an A.I. generated photo, and none of those very realistic looking humans were real. Then, I found myself worried. I was so used to seeing A.I. photos and videos and being able to tell that they were fake within a quick glance. However, that's become much more difficult. Not only is A.I. harmful to the environment, I do believe that it is also harmful to our futures. You also may have seen that there are hundreds, thousands, or even millions of videos that are A.I., yet seem so, incredibly, even terrifyingly realistic. These people, or robots, in these videos are doing regular things that we do in our daily lives. Such as interacting, speaking, shopping, etc. Despite all of these other things that I've mentioned, the thing that honestly scared me the most was when I saw a news video. I don't remember what they headline was, but because it looked so real, I believed it for a second. This can be so harmful to many lives, and even jobs. It's so easy to make a video with A.I. in a few seconds when there are people who put in hours or even days of effort into making something similar, expect it's actually authentic and real. There are things like A.I. art and paintings, which is so honestly diminishing to the real artists, who put their heart and soul into their work, which is completely unfair. So many additional false rumors have been spread due to the realism of these robots and creations. There may not be too much we can do about this, but we can avoid using it. be a little help in saving careers and the environment.
