Patriarchy??

Omg just rambling and yap btw

So idk i just wanted to talk about the whole patriarchy issue and the way SOME men just complain about not being able to do things that they could absolutely just do (such as getting their nails done or crying bcs of the whole boys dont cry thing) under the pretext that they need to be “male” and “strong” which is btw an issue they made themselves and by complaining about things like that, not only are they supporting the narrative that patriarchy (a system that they created and that literally favours the male gender in every possible way) affects them in a bad way but they are undermining women's life threatening issues that they also created because they only seem to be complaining about that when women do so which is in some way just deflecting from the actual problem

Now im not hating on anyone in particular so don’t get mad i just wanted to put that out there

!!!!AND ALSO!!! I AM IN NO WAY SAYING THAT MEN SHOULD BE IN FAVOR OF PATRIARCHY IM JUST STATING THAT THEM SAYING IT NEGATIVELY IMPACTS THEM PERSONALLY IS JUST MOSTLY WRONG

Also, please note that i am aware this probably makes no sense because its just a scramble of thoughts i had in my head

(tldr, gonna rant too ab this topic) it ticks me off so much when boys bring this up when women are talking about the sexism they face, like wow u got bit in the ass by your own mega privilege machine.

not being able to cry or be feminine isnt a big deal at all, least to me. how many women throughout their lives have to grow and make the choice to not give into the societal pressures and gendered boxes theyre groomed into? choosing to stop wearing makeup is as big of a rebellion against gender expectations as a man choosing to go to therapy.

Any man who changes the topic of misogyny or sexism to these small pull-backs they face, does not want to put in the work to overcome these gender roles, and instead like every other instance ever, is just a man wanting to change the topic to himself. Thats my two cents on this topic
