Miaphysitism in the Fragments
The Synod of Antioch and the Fragments of Malchion's Disputation against Paul of Samosata are quite miaphysite, we read in the following a compound Word:
"The compound is surely made up of the simple elements, even as in the instance of Jesus Christ, who was made one (person), constituted by God the Word, and a human body which is of the seed of David, and who subsists without having any manner of division between the two, but in unity."
[Malchion of Antioch; From the Acts of the Disputation Conducted by Malchion Against Paul of Samasota]
"Did I not say before that you do not admit that the only-begotten Son, who is from all eternity before every creature, was made substantially existent in the whole person of the Saviour; that is to say, was united with Him according to substance?"
[Malchion of Antioch; From the Same Acts and Disputation]
Furthermore, the Synod of Antioch even issued an Epistle, some of which was in fragments, that speaks of a union according to substance.
"He was formed, in the first instance, as many in the womb; and, in the second instance, the God also was in the womb, united essentially with the human, that is to say, His substance being wedded with man."
[Malchion of Antioch; Fragments Apparently From the Epistle of the Synod of Antioch]
