Okay so like we all know sort of the base of paganism, right? A pagan worships a god or goddess from a form of mythology (Greek, Roman, Celtic, Nordic, multiple different ones, etc) and said person gives said god or goddess offering and prays to that god or goddess, blah blah blah witch stuff.
Okay, so I don't have a problem with that obviously, I'm a pagan. The problem I have is with Christians(not all just the judgy ones) and uneducated people. Most people when I tell them I'm a pagan look at me funny and then start talking about the Christian God, which like, whatever believe in what you want obvi, but don't start talking about Christianity when paganism was a religion FIRST. There are literal pagan temples that Christians have demolished or built over to turn into Christian Churches and just completely have obliterated our history.
And people always say that paganism is a "dead religion", well obviously it is because Christians in the past have literally SLAUGHTERED pagans for not believing in the Christian God. But also saying paganism is a dead religion is kinda bullshit because (and I did my research) according to Celebrate Pagan Holidays, the percent of pagans in America currently is 0.3% to 0.4% which is about 1 to 1.5 million people and don't even get me started with the rest of the world.
AND, oh my gods, almost every person I've told asked if I worshipped the devil. HOW CAN I WORSHIP THE DEVIL IF I'M NOT A CHRISTIAN!? Literally no pagan worships the devil. Use me as an example, I worship Dionysus, Aphrodite, and Loki. I know some pagans that worship Odin or Zeus or Venus or something. Literally no pagan worships the devil because paganism has no tie to Christianity.
WAIT SCRATCH THAT WE DO!! Because Christians have stolen pagan holidays like Yule(Christmas), Easter, and Halloween. Pagans in Easter would celebrate fertility and rebirth but Christians have took that and made that into the resurrection of Jesus. Halloween, was a Celtic pagan holidays called Samhain: Samhain was a harvest festival and marked the end of summer and the beginning of the "darker half" of the year. Celts believed that on this night, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead blurred, allowing spirits to roam freely.
Now back to Yule, Yule is a pagan holiday, traditionally celebrated by Germanic peoples and now by Wiccans and other neo-pagans, that centers around the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. It marks the symbolic rebirth of the sun and the return of light and warmth. Nowadays, Christians have turned it into Christmas and associate it was the birth of Jesus, which honestly might not even be accurate.
Now, considering all I said about that, I have no problems with Christians or anyone of another religion as long as they don't have a problem with me.
ANYWAY HAVE AN AMAZING DAY/NIGHT/AFTERNOON ❤️❤️
