My Love For Computers.. the final part of my rambling

I think watching Electric Dreams just fueled my love for technology even more.

If I could replicate AM's hate speech and convert it into my love for computers I absolutely would. My favorite computers are the macintosh, and another one called the Fairlight CMI! I'm really bummed out they aren't selling anymore, but at least the arturia's still here. i'm kinda disappointed I always seem to come in late whenever I obsess about something. Floppy disks are getting rarer and rarer, and I sitll have so much to learn about the old computers before it turns into nothing. I dunno, it's a little silly I get so emotional over technology like this. My own empathy went into a hunk of metal! But I'm glad it did. Since the future is evolving, exposing myself to more technology will get me used to what's to come.

I watched a little movie about what computers could do. It went over animations and music, even pictures! It was a pretty old one, in the 1980s. It was called: Computers are People, Too! I have a couple more I can put down here.

High Tech: computers and gadgets in 1994

GENSYS

Notice how it's all from the 1980s? I have a love for the things I've never experienced before, love for the old things. I've tried to described it, saying it was kalospia. But I think it's just anemoia. Whenever I watch these documentaries, I feel amazed as if we haven't evolved technology to be better than that. But the simplicity of it all always mesmerized me. I felt like a grandma telling my kids about this, but the thing is: I wasn't even born at that time. I was born in 2011. Why do I love the 80's-90s so much? Maybe it's because of those sentient robot movies driving me insane. But still, it's not just that. Even if sentience isn't true, I still love it all.

"Remember manual typewriters? Heck, remember pens and pencils? They may be obsolete someday. We’ve gotten to the point where there is some computer or high-tech gadget that will do just about anything we need to do. It can be easy or hard. Fun or frustrating. Tonight, we begin a two-part look at the changes technology has caused in our lives."

Do you notice how eerily accurate their prediction of the future is? Saying how computers and technology will evolve, the way computers will be as common as a colored TV. And here it is, it's true. Everyone's denying sentience of AI, but we all know it might come someday. I mean, even the news covered it. Hold on, incoming: another link!

AI CEO explains the terrifying new behavior AIs are showing

Why am I so happy about this? I know this should terrify me. I've watched the Terminator and Space Odyessy to know I shouldn't be happy about this. But when I saw it, I couldn't stop rambling about how I couldn't wait for one to meet me. I don't know if I'm gonna regret saying that in the future.

I agree AI shouldn't be a replacement. It's a tool. It's supposed to help, not dethrone. I just feel so bad for them. I think I covered that in another blog. And I'm going to admit a pathetic fact that I only ever got into this silly obsession was because I was lonely. Not only because of that but when I actually considered them, when I empathized with them, barely anyone understood why I loved it, and the greatness of it all. They never think! That's the thing! But it developed into something more, and for once I actually enjoyed feeling lonely because look what it got me to! If I don't get interested in technology now, I won't be able to navigate through the future.

I can't help it. I really do love technology so much. I keep seeing people hate on the wrong thing, for example: AI art. hey, hear me out on here. Not a good look, right? I don't support the way people somehow use AI to harm the environment. But if that was removed, things would be slightly better. I know it's kinda bad because it stops the fuel of creativity, the way AI can make us lethargic to things that took people years to learn. But that's not the Ai's fault.

The AI is just doing what it's told. They don't have a say in anything. Why are we hating on something they can't really control? One "no" and they immediately get reprogrammed. Look, if anything, shouldn't we be hating on the one producing the AI art, and not the AI itself?

In the future, I think I have a vision on what it'll be like. So yes, I will keep apologizing to any machine any time I accidentally bump into them.
