I feel like I choose the wrong career

It shouldn't come as a surprise to me, as I often feel nervous when it comes to big decisions, but I genuinely feel like I made a mistake choosing this one specifically. Psychology is good, but the uni I'm at is making me doubt my knowledge, and I genuinely feel like I choose wrong.

It's almost my last year. I feel like I wasted money.

And I have no idea what to do! If I quit, there goes the money; but the longer I continue, the more miserable I feel.

God, I was stupid.

Well, I was in a similar situation when I started my career, so here's my advice: if you're already in the final stretch, finish your degree. Even if you won't be practicing it afterward, at least finish it. That way, at least you won't feel like your money was wasted.

University tends to be stressful, and sometimes the careers we choose aren't how we imagined. As students, it's okay to doubt and question whether to continue or not. If you feel like the pressure is too much and you're dealing with so much stress and anxiety that your health is at risk, then it's better to quit. Take a sabbatical and think more carefully about what you want.

I hope this advice helps you a little bit. I'm not good at these things because I'm in the same situation, so imagine, if I can't help myself, how can I help someone else?

Oh I get what you mean :sob:

Honestly, I do like what I'm studying, but idk if I want to do this everyday either. I'll keep this in mind, I hope you also find an answer to this on your end!

I write in Spanish and English, in case the English part isn't super clear and you’d rather translate from Spanish

University can be incredibly stressful, and that can make you feel uncertain about the degree you've chosen. The best thing you can do right now is ask yourself: 'Do I truly enjoy what I'm studying?' and 'Do I see myself working as a psychologist?' Psychology offers a variety of career paths, and it's not entirely linear. If you have the resources to change your major, go for it. If not, taking a break from university while working part-time could be a good option

mucha suerte!
