ARAB(IZED) CULTURE AND "DIGNITY"

this topic is actually so serious it's scary, especially when it comes to arab/muslim/eastern women's lives, where communities there define dignity as a woman's "purity", where not only she should be virgin, she also has to be completely naive when it comes to seggs or intimacy, women there are influenced by culture and religion and patriarchy that they are only a body to be covered, that she should be completely pure and unseen for her future husband to be satisfied. I'm trans yet i still am a victim of this shitty misogynistic culture that i was born in, for example just yesterday, my own fucking mother would point out that my knee was peeking from my gandoura (a trad clothing that north african ppl wear) and that i should cover it immediately bc my (married and has kids) uncle is in the house, when i said "mom, it's just my knee", both her and my dad gave me deadly looks and my dad almost yelled at me for it. for. a. fucking. KNEE. Another memory from last year, 13 year old me was laying on my stomach and watching smth on tv. very normal, right?? WRONG!!!!!! my grandma told me to sit down correctly bc my grandpa (who had vision problems so he barely notced me) could see me in that pose, and thats inappropriate!! why?? I DONT KNOW EITHER!!!!!!!Β mind you i was 13/12 (ion rly remember) so thinking that way abt a fucking CHILD is fucked up. i will need a whole fucking book if i wanted to talk abt situations that happened to me of this type, my dad getting mad bc my shoulder was peeking out of my oversized shirt, my parents getting mad bc i wore sleevless tops bc in their fucked up logic *showing shoulder= OML YOU WILL AROUSE MEN AND STRANGERS AND THEY'RE GONNA LOOK AT YOU AND THEY WILL GOON TO YOUR SHOULDERS OH MY GOD* like bitch fuck off.

moral of the story: i wanna run away
