My First Blog on Here

I love the idea of having this as a social media platform, where I'm not constantly bombarded with videos and memes, and don't feel drained from it. The world feels so exhausting right now, especially online. I've been dreaming of something like this, where I can share and talk to other people. 

Given the significant changes in technology over the years, it is increasingly important to have separate online spaces. Honestly, lately I've just been wanting to go back to the nostalgia of my childhood and switch to using a flip phone of some sort. Getting an iPod to listen to music instead of using my phone for it. Being more present in my daily life and less reliant on technology as much as I can. I miss the days when the most social media presence was the old Facebook back in 2009. At that, I was only able to access it through my family's computer, not on a phone. Just playing my Nintendo DS in my bedroom all day without a care in the world. 

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but that's how I feel. Current technology has essentially brain-rotted our minds, as it's become so normalized for us to be addicted to our phones and do nothing else outside of them. As 25 elder Gen Z, we are last with childhoods that didn't involve having our faces stuffed with an iPad or a phone like younger generations are being raised on.
