Here are my lipsticks! For a long time I’ve always felt that lipstick was too feminine for me, but these last few years I’ve really warmed up to the idea. Anymore, I think about makeup as a form of art and expression, rather than “just something girls do,” which was my previous line of thinking for most of my childhood. Something something because of my feelings about gender and my own repressed sexuality. Emo and Vkei really unlocked something inside my brain, that makeup isn’t inherently feminine, it’s just expression the same as fashion. For a long time I felt similarly conflicted about fashion, too concerned with looking masculine, and in doing so I missed out on just allowing myself to wear things that are beautiful. I think men, even queer men like myself limit themselves too much in terms of self expression. Anyway, on that note, I love really unconventional makeup! Anything vaguely bloody, or corpse-like, doll-like, or stuff that reminds people of theatrical makeup. In a world where everything is dull and boring, full of dull and boring people… Sometimes you want people to stare.

In general, Revlon lipsticks aren’t that bad, they’re not particularly greasy, nor dry. They lack shine of a lot of lipsticks, but, like. just fix it with a gloss if you care about that. 

As for my lip stains… Sushyglow stains are by far my favorite. Anymore it feels like everyone is trying to rip them off, but it’s hard to compete with someone who loves their brand, fans, and products so thoroughly. I’m eagerly awaiting their new packaging!

And, of course… I’m a MAC lover. Their lipsticks have been culturally relevant like no other in my personal opinion, and while their range isn’t as fun as it used to be, I think they’re still putting in some sort of effort towards having innovative formulas and colors without catering to the everyman too much. Unfortunately, they don’t cater to the desires of their diehard fans either. [Dude I’m so pissed, I wasn’t able to get ahold of Bubbles and Haku last year before they sold out, and I’m probably never going to be able to, aghhh!! But in good news if anyone wants dupes, I have the secrets, and you should totally DM me and ask about my dupes… I have yet to purchase them, because I am a filthy brokie, but… They’re incredibly similar. Side note, I am trying to get a job at Ulta. I might be a bit too weird and socially awkward for the job, but I’m incredibly good with color and love learning about makeup and nail polish, obviously. Wish me luck, bitchesss. If you’ve worked at Ulta, I’d like to hear your stories about that, honestly.]
