Everyone I know in life has something they excel in, something they're clearly meant to do. Everyone is progressing so much and I'm just stuck. I've never had a special talent. I have passions but nothing has come of them.
But my lack of progression is destroying all my motivation to actually indulge in my hobbies. It's making me even more stagnant, and making my progress falter even more.
I just don't see the point anymore. I'm never going anywhere so why even try? It's like I'm not even meant to exist.

Progression doesn’t mean perfection. That’s the thing about hobbies and things you do for fun. You, and everyone else will never ever be perfect at one thing. And while you may think this is a sort of down-in-the-dumps way of thinking about it, it’s actually a good thing, because then you can keep learning. Each and every time you start doing your hobby, you pick up a new skill, or you increase your talent within it. Even if it doesn’t seem like it. When I was in sixth grade, I was horrendous at colouring and anatomy. I was bery jealous of this girl, who could draw anatomy impressively, and could colour like she was a living paintbrush. But, while I tried to find out what was so good about her style, my own sytle began to improve, because instead of giving up, I kept on drawing, and drawing, and drawing. Each style and artpiece got better and better and better. I know it’s enticing to just give up, trust me, I’ve been deflated about my own art sometimes too, it’s discouraging to think you’re not good at something you love. But I assure you, there’s so many people who wre just starting our at your said hobbies that would kill to be in your position. I remember, I would idolize art styles back then, and when I look back at the art sytles I idolized then, I think they’re too simplistic, or notice their flaws. But that’s the thing, they were average at art, but they were at a higher level than I was as at the time, and I thought that they were the best artists ever for being able to draw eyes and anatomy correctly (and I’m sure they’re surpassed into being absolutely AMAZING artists by now). So trust me, I know from expierence, you will excell, it just takes time! You’re doing great, even if it’s just behind the scenes. Not everyday will be a drastic difference, but every day is a change and step forward.

i'm dogshit at sewing. i have to superglue the ends because no matter how many times i tie it, i comes undone. none of my lines are straight. often the hems stick out in awkward ways. when i sew something, it is painstakingly obvious it is a handmade item. even though i'm shit at it, i do it anyway. slowly, i've gotten a little better. i know it's a loop of "i'm not good at this, i won't do it. i can't do this because i haven't done it." but unfortunately the only way out is to break the loop. and you're not going to suddenly get good at it. so just try your best to do things. be terrible at whatever it is you want to do. be seriously genuinely just awful at it. and slowly, if you stick with it, you'll get the hang of it. or, you'll hate it and move on to the next thing you can be awful at. that's how i developed most of my hobbies. i sucked at writing four years ago but now i can make wonderful heartfelt stories. (love the background btw so cute) you can only get better if you start as not great, ykwim?? and everybody starts somewhere. famous actors were probably terrible at theatre when they were little kids.
You're so right. I love that mindset <3

A hobby is called a hobby because you're enjoying yourself. You don't need to progress nor need to be amazing at it for it to be considered your hobby. As an example, I skateboard but even though I try my best I can't ollie (One of the most basic movements of skateboarding), but that doesn't mean that I can't have skateboarding as my hobby. Just enjoy yourself.
i find it hard to enjoy myself if i'm not doing anything right

Lol the depressing read with the cute background is quite funny to me. Also, you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. Your passions will show themselves naturally!
