1st KISM chapter (spoilers)

there's some time i've finished watching KISM (Kafka is Missing) gameplay, which is a danganronpa russian fangame and the game is so pretty, it has such a great and comfy ambiance, the characters are so beautiful and perfect idk i just love it :,-(. i know it doesn't really have a huge fandom, specially non-slavic, so prob no one will know what i'm talking about, but still i wanted to talk about this somewhere.

i wanted to share a theory (???) about the game. it's simple but i don't really see anyone talking or mentioning it.

Kafka is Missing is a game about Vlad Sokolov's life, a boy who suffers from amnesia because of an unknown accident (for us, at least). he forgets almost everything, forgets even his own mother, and, by the narrative, it implies that Vlad has also forgotten about the accident.

he meets Kafka on his first day trying to go to school after a good time not going. you can choose actually going to school or just staying with Kafka around the city, Vlad will befriend with him anyway. they get close really quickly and you can see Kafka is way too mysterious but Vlad considers him his bestfriend; Kafka is the type of person that gets close to people easily, but i don't think that's the case in the game because he seems to know things about Vlad that he didn't even tell him, so i think that's very suspicious (and that's when the theory starts :-) ).

in the end of the chapter, Vlad "teaches" Kafka how to play piano during a very sentimental conversation because Vlad chooses to avoid the past that he forgot - not only his past but also his personality, which he's insecure about since everyone acts like he was an horrible person - instead of trying to remember. after, Vlad gets out of the music room and leaves Kafka in there, then he starts to play a song perfectly like he already knew how to play it without even looking anywhere, like he hasn't just learn how to play in that moment; and that makes Vlad feel something, maybe making him sightly remember something?? but he doesn't really notice, he just end up being bothered and mad about it and (probably) punches Kafka.

it's pretty cool how the game shows us how irrational this situation is because you can't really tell why Vlad is feeling like that, why did he punch Kafka for simply playing a song. you get confused with Vlad and that's super cool and interesting.

i really think that Kafka is an old friend of Vlad trying to make him remember his past, remember who he once was while everyone just tries to act like nothing happened or just be sad that he forgot. still, we can't really tell if Kafka is REALLY a good person, if it's really supposed to him make Vlad remember things. what if he's part of Vlad accident and that's why he shouldn't remember?

i could've talked about other things here but that's what made me impressed ending the first chapter. i'm pretty anxious about the next chapters and i hope it gets out soon (and that it gets at least an english translation because i don't really know russian. and that we could download the game out of telegram because i can't really access telegram.)

:-)
