The time I met Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall :3

21th June 2025, Fiorano Modenese, Italy

After waiting three months I finally managed to the WAEVE and I was so HAPPY for that because my favourite guitarist is in that group, and I could finally meet him :3. Meeting a celebrity is both exciting and embarassing. At least for me... 

I went there with my mum and one of my bsf (he hasn't spacehey for now waaa). We arrived at the place where the concert was at around 3 pm even though the concert started at 9 pm lmao... A guy told us where Graham and Rose would stay and so we waited in front of a kind of a dressing room. They still haven't arrived because they were eating at a restaurant.

 After a while, we saw a van arriving with a man shouting at some people that were crossing the road (yeah, we're in Italy after all) and I saw Rose's side profile in the van. I was like "god this isn't real". The moment the band left the van us and two other fans we became friends with, literally ran towards them. I gave Graham and Rose three drawings I did and they were really happy with that ^^. Then they went into the dressing room, but that didn't stop us. We kept waiting in the same place.

Again, after a while, Rose came out from the dressing room but we only said hi to her because she was in a rush going towards the stage where they had to do the soundcheck. She seemed pretty annoyed, but in reality it was just that they ate a lot and... them being British didn't help since the weather was REALLY hot. I'm getting used to it though. So. no autograph from Rose. For now.

Few minutes later Graham came out and he LOOKED SO SO SO SILLY I swear XD. Instead, even though he needed to go to the soundcheck too, he stopped to sign some of our things and he was so shy for a grown man lmao. His awkwardness is pretty relatable :,3. He signed my book of his autobiography and as he was signing it he said "that's a crazy book" and I just nodded. It is a crazy book indeed. BUT IT'S A MASTERPIECE FR. He also signed THE WAEVE self titled book. Don't ask me from where I took the courage from, but I've managed to ask him a hug. And he did it. He hugged me. I still can't believe it :,)))). He then headed towards the soundcheck and we went after him to wait under the stage for hot 5-6 hours under the BURNING sun.

As they did the soundcheck we were watching them and we found a place right under the stage. There wasn't that much people. It was a little  festival of a radio. Oh I forgot to say that this gig was FREE. Yes pure luck we had. When they finished the soundcheck, my other bsf (Edo :3) finally arrived. I HATE THAT WE LIVE SO FAR AWAY LIKE OMG GIVE ME TELEPORTATION POWERS :(((((((. So we all waited together and then the gig finally started. It was AMAZING. Graham's guitar playing was beautiful and Rose was literally a goddess came to earth. I ain't joking WASAAAAA. We sang at the top of our lungs and then we also pulled out our three Ikea aliens. Graham noticed them and he smiled. I also wrote a sign with "Rose you're gorgeous" on it. Graham noticed that too and nodded approvingly. It was so funny.

After the concert all the people (so many peopleeeee) rushed to make Graham and Rose sign their merch.  So we all went there again and finally I managed to get THE WAEVE album signed also by her and she also signed... my arm. Edo asked for a hug to Rose and he got REALLY REALLY happy when she said that he was gorgeous. I regret not asking Rose a hug ugh. I got my arm also signed by Graham and he didn't know if he could hold my wrist as he did or not so he looked lost. That guy is a mood. Since the gig finished, the radio played some songs while they were doing autographs. First, there was "inbetween days" by The Cure then there was "There is a Light that Never Goes Out" by The Smiths (lmao) so, we started to sing the one by the Smiths. Graham stopped signing something and he raised his head to look at us with a look that was PRICELESS. I have it printed in my brain. We still don't know what that face actually meant. It could be both "omg shut up you're out of tune" or both "wtf how do they even know this song". (we're teenagers and Italian teenagers that listen to this kind of music are really RARE. Not to flex but it's an actual statement unfortunately :///)

Edo and my other bsf wanted a hug also from Graham, but uh oh... they needed to go away so he saw them going to the other side. Edo's mum told us that if we ran we might catch them and so we did. The man of the security told us to be quick and he let us see Graham  (Rose was already gone onto the van) the last time. I've managed to get my Parklife record signed as well and I also got another hug from him. After this we didn't see them again.

After the whole thing finished, 'Last Nite' by The Strokes came on and we happily started to sing it as we were going to buy few bottles of water for our sore throats. We were overly excited and we jumped around like kids on Christmas' Eve XDD. Imagine our reactions when 'Disco 2000' by Pulp came on. Two men that were nearby where surprised that we knew the song, it was a pretty funny scene. The night ended with some guys from the Blur's fan club giving us one sticker each because we were singing "Girls & Boys". We then had to separate from Edo unfortunately. Best day of my life.
