I WENT TO MCR 7/26/25!

i cant believe i was lucky enough to not only go to a mychem concert in 2025 but also get floor seats for it at a pretty affordable price!!!! i went with my friend (who admittedly isnt a superfan of mychem but enjoys stuff generally) and it was AWESOME. i just wanted to type out everything and rant because if you told my kidself that she would be able to see mychem EVER she'd freak out.

firstly, i just wanted to talk about the b-stage setlist. when a song i didnt recognize started playing it, i was internally so shocked and didnt know how to react. i nearly gaslit myself into thinking i was just some fake fan but IT WAS UNRELEASED MUSIC. WE GOT SOMETHING FROM PAPER KINGDOM??? AND I WAS THERE FOR IT?? im so happy the internet uploaded the full song because i only filmed like maybe 2 separate few second long videos of it. i was generally too in awe to record stuff and just wanted to listen along to the music. i think people on tumblr are kinda fooling themselves into thinking we're getting a new album though. no i dont think mcr5 is actually real this time. i heard that gerard said he wasn't even comfortable releasing that album because the concept of dead, missing kids was too much especially now that him/the rest of the band were parents. 

im so happy they played boy division. at the start of the concert i went to my friend like I REALLY HOPE THEY PLAY BOY DIVISION AND OUR LADY OF SORROWS AGAIN!! and while i didnt get the latter, i got vampires instead which was JUST AS GOOD. boy division is literally one of my fav songs ever and it was cathartic to just scream out CAN YOU STAKE MY HEART with a bunch of other people. the leadup for that song was so crazy because all it took for me to freak out was gerard saying "this is the first song we ever recorded and i got punched in the face before it happened!!" AND I KNEW!!!! the crowd was also obviously very hyped for im not ok (i promise) and helena. as expected. what can i say they are all bangers anyways.

btw from where my friend and i were sitting, you could FEEL the fire when famous last words started playing. i have nothing but respect for the crew and the amt of work it took for all of the pyrotechnics to work like that. and the stage theatrics were so fantastic. i cant believe i didnt get a video of gerard going HOT DOG!!! but i did get a near perfect video of the dictator eating a hot dog and the executions happening RIGHT after. this is why you have the internet!!

also before the concert, i immediately identified the draag posters of the wanted criminals as being nearly identical to the wanted posters of the killjoys for danger days. and the "NOTHING TO SEE HERE" poster was so similar to the BL/IND logo. they have to be connected right??? i think i've seen other people say they were connected but now im kinda convinced lol

LOL WITH THE WAY THAT I WAS LOUDLY SINGING ALONG AND WAVING MY ARMS I FEEL LIKE I TOTALLY WOULD HAVE DONE OKAY IN THE PIT I BELIEVE!!! THERE IS SPIRIT IN MY SOUL!!!

i got freebies from some really nice people too!! the girl next to me gave me this totally adorable mikey photocard with stickers all over it. and the girl in front of us gave my friend and i kandi bracelets! i got one that said na na na and my friend got one that said frank iero. my friend ended up giving me their bracelet bc they arent really attached to the members too much teehee.

ANYWAYS THAT WAS IT!!!!! I LOVED MYCHEM FOR SO MANY YEARS AND ITS SO SURREAL BEING ABLE TO SEE THEM IN PERSON WITH THE SEATS I GOT!!! im so happy to be around so many ppl that shared the same love for this band. I WOULD DEFINITELY WANT TO SEE THEM AGAIN SOMEDAY
