Maybe music is the footprints in the sand

I was just looking to my profile when I noticed all the albums and songs in it. Some of them were kinda... outdated, then I thought how much I have changed over time. And those changes have also been very fast (probably because im young), which makes me very surprised, and also kinda proud of myself.

When I was very little, I remember how I thougt I had NO music taste, not in like, a bad taste, but like in a nonexistent music taste. The first time I remember liking a song or an artist a lot was when I was 10 or smth, with Katy Perry, Alan Walker and Imagine Dragons. From those three branch off all the other music I love up to today.

It may sound stupid or corny, but I kinda love how music evolves with the person all long their life, all the branches, influences, and discoveries. I think its so intricate and says a lot about the person. If you really looked into it, you can probably make a web conecting all the music you have ever heard in your life, and then relate it to how your life was in that moment, like a "musical family tree".

Doing this could be a very good way to rediscover music you like and get to know yourself better, even reconnecting with songs or parts of you, you supressed. For example, it has NOT been easy for me to go from listening to The Cure, to listening to Cupcakke, but I still love and keep in my heart songs like Disintegration or Love Song. So if you don't have anything to do and want to avoid doomscroling for hours, you could try to draw a music map! I may actually try to do it myself (I came up with the idea while writing this entry) and see how it turns up.

Btw i'll be probably be changing some of the albums in my profile. Ty if you read all the post, you can share your opinions (or even ur maps) in the comments!
