i'm home again, for now!
i just got back from my trip to visit my family and tour my university campus. in the fall, i'll be moving in with my grandmother, who lives a several-hours-long flight away. i'll also be starting university!
the campus is absolutely gorgeous, the community is smaller and tight-knit, and the program material is right up my alley, so i'm super excited. i'm going to be living that secret history life, studying literature, history, and philosophy in beautiful old buildings surrounded by trees bursting with autumnal colours, and i might even participate in a bacchanal and kill a man!
just kidding. anyway, the town where i will be moving is by the sea, and it is much colder than my hometown. at least my omi's house is very cozy - a warm place amidst the fog. i find the town lovely and charming, with pretty, colourful houses, and many bookstores and coffee shops. here are some pictures from my recent visit, taken on my digital camera!
far in the distance, a lighthouse can be seen
my ice cream!
a cute duck sitting on a rock in the park
the pier!
blurry mac and cheese :-)
the park, which i'm sure will be even prettier come autumn!
expect lots of pretty pictures in the fall! unless i get super burnt out and can hardly keep up with my schoolwork and totally fall of the face of the earth... let's pray that doesn't happen again! yes, i have a lot of worries and apprehensions about moving away and starting university. but that's for another blog entry.
as for this entry, i spent my trip walking around parks and piers with my family. i bonded with my younger cousins, and played outside for hours like a little kid. i also bought up all the books i need for my program. it's a hefty reading list, but i'm excited for most of it. keyword being most...
there's still lots of summer left, though! it's over a month until i move out. and in the meantime i'm still going to my friend's cabin and visiting my other grandmother. not to mention working on my creative projects and spending time with my friends at home. since i finally figured out how to get pictures off my digital camera, i'm thinking of posting all my most summery photos at the end of the season.
thanks for reading and have a great day! :-)

your photos are so lovely!! were they taken with a phone camera? they just feel so vibrant and alive :0 and I'm super excited to see just how much more beautiful they'll be in autumn!
I hope you can enjoy the rest of your summer break to the fullest- it sounds like you'll be well-prepared for university to start in the fall! hearing you describe the campus reminded me of my prospective uni (although I've not visited in-person :p) - I think the small environment and idyllic surroundings will be just perfect! it's always a bonus to have family nearby that you can lean on for support, that must make a huge difference.
thank you sm! the photos were actually taken on my digital camera!! i wish i could say what brand or model it is, but i stole it from my brother and he didn't keep the box or instructions
i am very happy about the smaller campus size and community, it feels much cozier and less overwhelming than a large university... do you have any plans to visit your prospective campus?
