Angelgirl tween magazine! :D (issue 1: summer!)

I saw a blog named SMACK! Magazine and I totally got inspired- I’ve ALWAYS wanted to make a magazine! I thought it might be easier to make a magazine-style blog for girls just a little bit younger than me, which is why I’m making one for tweens rather than teens! 

Theme: summer!

I wanna start off by talking about what summer means for me: beach days, hanging out with my friends, maxing out the good weather, wearing all my cute summer clothes, spending time on my boat, relaxing, shopping and so much more! What does summer mean for you? Write it down on a piece of paper or comment down below! 

How to have the best summer ever!

The most important part of having a good summer is making sure you’re happy and looking after your mind and body! after a week of exciting activities or summer camp, you’ll need to take some time to totally chillax and unwind before you jump back into more fun! 

Not sure when it’s time to chill? Don’t worry, I’m here to help! If you’re feeling tired and you don’t feel like doing anything, it’s definitely time to take a break. After a long and exciting week, the weekend is the perfect time to totally chill and reset before you jump right back into more fun! Sometimes after just  one day of all-go you’ll find yourself feeling exhausted, and that’s totally OK.

Not sure how to relax? Well, there’s plenty of ways- find one that works for you! Here’s my top 5 ways to totally unwind.

1: Take a loOooOOooOong shower- wash EVERY part of your body, shampoo twice, do a hair mask and sing your heart out! 

2: engage in a slow-paced, relaxing hobby. Something like baking, drawing, reading or painting can help you calm down and feel totally chill!

3: get comfy and watch one of your favourite shows or movies. This is the perfect way to unwind after a long day!

4: have an at-home spa day! Do a face mask, paint your nails, use your fav lotion, put on some tunes and chillax!

5: take a nap! A simple solution to feeling tired ;) 

Another important part of having an awesome summer is making sure your mental health is good! Here’s some ways to keep your mental health in check!

1: get a good nights sleep, it’s recommended to get 9-11 hours of sleep to make sure you aren’t tired during the day!

2: eat well. If you’re not eating enough, you might start to feel moody or sick, and no one wants that! Make sure you’re eating 3 proper meals a day with a few healthy snacks in between (and lots of ice cream, duh!) 

3: talk about your feelings. If you bottle up your emotions, you’ll just feel worse! If you’re feeling sad or anxious, make sure to talk to someone you can trust- it’ll totally make you feel better! 

Summer activities 

Since there’s no school during summer, you have to find other ways to stay busy! I like to start off by making a bucket list and writing down everything I wanna do over the summer. Here’s some of my favourite summer activities that you can add to your bucket list!

Swimming in the pool, spending time at the beach, walking my dog, going to water parks, having my friends over for barbecues, having picnics, having sleepovers and having water fights!

Going to the beach is definitely one of my favourite summer activities, but what do I pack? What do I do when I get there? WHAT DO I WEAR!? well… I’m here to help!

WHAT DO I PACK!?

Don’t panic girl! Here’s a list of what I bring with me to the beach: two swimsuits, a towel, a hair tie, flip flops, spray on sunscreen, after sun lotion, mini deodorant, body lotion, a picnic, a BIG bottle of water, perfume, sun glasses, that’s pretty much it. WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GET THERE!?

tan. I ALWAYS start off my day by lathering up in sunscreen and laying down on my beach towel to try and get a tan. It doesn’t really work for me because I do NOT tan easily, but if you tan easily, I’m jealous! I also like to swim in the sea during beach days-okay, I don’t actually swim, but I do enjoy messing around in the water and bodyboarding, even if there’s no waves LOL

WHAT DO I WEAR!? 

ALWAYS wear your swimsuit under your clothes so you don’t have to change when you get there. But what swimsuit should you wear? Whatever you feel comfortable in! But where do people even BUY swimsuits? Most people buy swimsuits in places like H&M, primark, Roxy, billabong,Benetton or Hollister, just Google “swimsuits for teens” and you’ll see a million cute results! But what should you wear OVER your swimsuit? I usually wear my juicy couture Terry skirt and my cute hibiscus shirt, but things like board shorts, skirts, simple dresses, or beach cover-ups in bright colours and tropical prints are perfect for the beach!

Easy things to do this summer

Sometimes summer can feel boring, especially if your friends aren’t around and your parents aren’t willing to bring you places. Sometimes you just need a simple activity to keep you busy, like the ones below!

1: try out a crazy new makeup look, something like a goth or gyaru makeup look will be tonnes of fun!

2: make ice pops by pouring juice, soda or a smoothie into ice pop moulds!

3: redecorate your bedroom. Print out posters or pictures, move your decorations to a new place or make some DIY decorations! 

4: bake up a storm! Look up yummy recipes online and once you find something that looks delicious and easy to do, make it!

5: make pictures with chalk on your driveway

6: find a new tv series to watch

7: pretend to be a YouTuber and make silly videos around your house

8: FaceTime a friend

9: find a fun video game to play, I like to play games on Roblox or numuki!

10: make slime or bracelets
