13 Things to Do Without Leaving Home: Backyard🌴

SUMMER'S here,

I didn’t think there was much to do out there, just some plants, a suspiciously nosy pigeon, and the same old tiled floor. But turns out, your backyard can be a soft little stage for all sorts of side quests. Here’s a list of things I’ve tried (or absolutely plan to romanticize trying) in the backyard. No passport required lol.

also ayy ay its all introvert and shy friendly. idk why but back when i was disgustingly shy, i used to curl up and get awkard af to go into any sunlit area thats exposed to outer sky lol.

Fix Something

Take apart a bicycle or old fan in the name of “repair” and then forget how to put it back.jk. classic. but im pretty sure there's something lying around in the house waiting to be repaired. search for em.

Backyard Time Capsule

You know your way around this cmon. Put in a note, a wrapper from your fav snack, a pic, old lighter or a playlist link. Bury it or hide it in a box tied with jute rope. Future you will cry (in a good way lol)

Record an Outdoor Podcast or Voice Note Diary

Just ramble. Trust me, when you're bored or low af, you'll randomly come across these rants and they'd be your reason to smile like an idiot. Let the birds and auto rickshaw horns be background music. let everything flow around you.

Wash Your Bedsheets Outside

Oky hear me out. Handwashing bedsheets in a tub in the backyard, sun-drying them on a line, and then falling asleep in them = real happiness.

Witchy Moon Ritual or Full Moon tea(for the spiritual girlies)

Light a candle, sip your tea, write down things to release. Throw it into the wind or under a tulsi plant like the moon priestess you are. yk the rest of the things too ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

Birdwatching or Feeding🐦

Put grains out, just walk around throwing it around and watch them visit.

Bonus: name each bird and look them up if they're not familiar.

Start a Mini Herb or Spice Garden

Coriander, Mint, Tulsi(basil), Rosemary.  I don't have any gardening tips though, i keep my plants alive somehow, but i love talking and complimenting them.

Self Picnic

Use a steel dabba if you're feeling desi. Cut fruit, some snacks, a flask of tea. bring a bedsheet and lay around or even doze off. done( • ᴗ - ) ✧

Peel and Store

Sit out under the sky and peel some garlic or restock your pantry. Exposing the food to the sun would just double the hygiene and get you more vitamin-d.

Backyards are underrated. You don’t always need a trip to feel new — sometimes a mat, a mango, and a playlist is enough. You can do pretty much any chore outside. it's free will.

I love the mini garden, BUT, if you are planning to grow mint IN THE GROUND OR ANYWHERE CLOSE TO THE DIRT. beware, it spreads. Quite a bit, wonderful plant, my favourite herb, but definitely pesky to get rid of. Great blog!!
