Bao Buns i made when i was hangry(„• ֊ •„)੭

(๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)Now that I'm out of the food coma...

BAO BUNS AND SIOPOA SAUCE (the sauce was fun to make)


Buns Ingredients𓎩🛒

milk 40ml 

sugar 1/2tsp 

yeast 1/2 tsp

oil  1/2tbsp 

water - as thikk as you want


 All purpose Flour 150gm (i used wheat flour cuz i ran out of the other one)

yeast 1/2tsp

baking powder 1/2tsp

Method 🥣

1. In a bowl, add mixture of milk and water (40ml-40ml), sugar & yeast. Leave it for 5mins. 

2. In another bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt, and mix well. Add the yeast mixture & form a rough dough then add oil and knead for 8 mins till it becomes smooth. 

3. Divide the dough into 5 equal parts and roll them slightly thick nd carefully place them on a butter paper. Cover with a damp cloth and leave it for 45 minutes.

 4. Prepare the steamer, arrange the buns on it and cover. Switch on the gas and steam it for 15 minutes. (Do not switch on the gas before) 

5. Turn off the gas and let them be in the steamer for 5 mins then remove them .Make sandwiches, falafel Bao buns whatever u crave...


SIOPOA SAUCE Ingredients𓎩🍅🧅🧄🧂

  • 1 cup water
  • 1-1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup sugar or 1/2 for less sweeteness (the sugar sent me to food coma)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped

 Method 🥣

1. In a bowl add water, cornstarch, sugar, soy sauce and garlic. Mix well.

2. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, boil a little amount of water.

3. Then add in the saucepan the cornstarch soy sauce mixture. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes or until it thickens up.

4. Dip em with siopao
