Making myself a Kangal "therian" mask.

Well, Ive always had a certain grudge against kintype masks especially how mainstream they've become and how people always make them look the same an don't tend to try anything different with them, or believe is a big part of bwing otherkin/Therian etc. So I hate how most of them look and how they are used etc etc. I find the cat ones particularly ugly, but I do get why they are used a lot, its cheap, easy to make and find.

Though today I decided it was time to embrace the fact that I want one as part of my gear collection, and make myself one, this is my first time making a mask from scratch, I am using a video from a cosplayer as base to my mask. This one will be a Kangal mask with a movable jaw. As you can see I'm very early onto my project. I though it would help with my mood to do some crafting and DIY. I want it to look different from the usual "therian mask" or those models ssociated with them, so I am trying to make this as personalized as I can and shape it completely to my face and head so it looks more natural, since I'm bald atm, covering my head shouldn't be a problem.

My next project will be my Dead space helmets, I plan on making first my DS3 one, then my DS1 one, and, maybe a advanced suit helmet.

The materials I'm using for this mask are aluminum foil, paper and white glue, and micropore tape because my tape was over ;w; I bought more now and also bought glow in the dark glue to make the drool on the teeth and details. Might not use it all so I can use it on my rig as well.

I will not be using foam on this project, since foam is quite expensive, I'll be fucking around and finding out as I go.

I molded the aluminum foil around my face and head, which gave me a few cuts on the ears, so I recommend at least covering your face with plastic before hand so you don't hurt yourself. Don't be as stupid as I was, aluminum foil is pretty sharp.

After that, I started covering the whole thig with tape, then the paper, though I only used the paper because of my lack of tape, I don't recommend already using the paper since you will need to stick more things to the mask still, and the paper will make it smore difficult, use the tape to keep the shape of the aluminum foil in place.

Soon I'll update this.
