Alterhuman, as defined for the purpose of this tag meme, is any identity or experience that differs from what is generally considered human. This tag meme is focused on those with some degree of nonhumanity (therianthropes, otherkin, nonhuman fictionkin, copinglinkers, otherhearted, etc.).

General:

Why do you consider yourself alterhuman? Is it spiritually based, psychologically based, neurodivergency, coping, for fun? A combination?

↳Well I base my alterhuman identities mostly on the spiritual, I feel that my human soul was mixed with that of other animals (cat, raccoon and crow) But with my conceptkin identity it is a strange mixture but I do see it more connected to my neurodivergence

How did you discover / come to terms with your alterhumanity? Did you have a special awakening experience, or did you always know?

↳It all started with my cat theriotype. I always knew that one deep down I just didn't know how to put it into words until I discovered the term therian and said "holy fuck thats me!!" The rest of my identities were discovered over time and through research.

Which alterhuman communities are you active in, if any? How did you discover these?

↳ im not really active in any communitie but Will love to

What is your view of humanity? Do you hate humans, love humans, find them interesting? If anything, what bothers you about humanity; how can this be fixed?

↳I don't hate humans but I would say that I hold some grudge against them due to various things such as the damage to the planet and other things, wanting to pigeonhole me and making me afraid of being who I really am, etc. but I also find humans an interesting species (I know I'm also human, I know my body is human, don't start)

How do you feel about being referred to as human? Phrases like "you're only human"?

↳I know I am human so I don't care if I am referred to as human, you know, if you ask me if I am human I will say yes, if you ask me if I am a non-human animal I will also say yes

How open are you with being alterhuman? Have you told anybody IRL, or do you only stick to alterhuman spaces?

↳no one I know IRL knows I'm alterhuman and I don't plan on telling anyone

How do you feel about the alterhuman community? Either in general or how it is now; how do you feel about 'kinnies' / Kin For Fun (KFF)?

↳I feel that the alterhuman community is nice, at least so far I have never had a bad experience. And about the KFF I really don't care, let them do what they want as long as they don't harm anyone

How has alterhumanity impacted your life? Do you feel better after embracing/accepting your identity? Has anything become more difficult?

↳I feel like everything has been better since I discovered my alterhuman identity, it made me feel more comfortable with myself.

↳therian: black cat, raccoon, crow

otherkin: feathered dragon

conceptkin: dreamcore (I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING LET ME BE)

I always knew my identity as a black cat, the raccoon and crow came after noticing non-human behaviors that were not cat-like.

The dragon came mostly because of a phantom shift that had nothing to do with any identity and when I investigated I discovered that they were my dragon wings.

And conceptkin is an explanation that is too long and complicated.

Do you experience shifts or supernumerary phantom limbs for any of these? How do they feel?

↳I allways have phantom shifts, like ALL THE TIME, mostly it's just a tickle but there are times when it's too realistic and I even try to touch it

What do you think about your identity? Do you like your species / the character you identify as? Why or why not?

↳I completely accept my identities and they make me happy, I think my animals are pretty cool and my concept... honestly gives me great comfort despite the negative things it includes

Have you / do you plan to have anything done to affirm your species (surgeries, body modification, tattoos)? Is there anything you would want to physically have if it were possible?

↳I wouldn't do anything, maybe a tattoo but nothing extreme. BUT IF I COULD I WANT MY WINGS

Is your identity considered uncommon? Do you know of many people who share your identity/species?

↳conceptkin in general is not very common AND CONCEPTKIN DREAMCORE?! I have never met anyone with that same identity, but I have met people with curious identities, I knew someone who identified himself as an airplane, really nice guy

↳I surround myself with dreamcore related things for comfort. I also wear jewelry that represents my animals.

↳the typical "dreamcore" songs, great comfort.
