TL:DR Why does everything cost money lol

I've spent a little too much time working on a practice project using HTML and CSS, but I've found that there are essentially zero websites in which you can write code and view the product at the same time (at least without spending money, which I do not have lmao). This is so very very evil, for I am just a little guy in the world. Do they not know this? Terrible.

To bring you along on this journey I've been on, let me describe the evils I've experienced.

Site #1

Perilously evil indeed, for I coded most of a document (granted, not very well and without a stylesheet lol) and by the time I was willing to save the code to my PC I was fooled! Tricked even! For they asked me to make an account, which promptly led to me losing all of my work AND demanded money of me (tragic! tragic I say!).

Site #2

More evil than the last by far, for once I added a body element to the HTML, a pop up refused to leave! The dastardly evil spoke unto me this: "Eraser, I have detected that you have added a body element! Be sure to recall that nothing but body element specific elements should go inside the opening and closing tags here! Lest your code is dysfunctional!" And the fiend would not part from my screen no matter what! How evil.

Site #3

Eight line limit plus a pay wall.

Jokes aside, it's a little disheartening that to practice on your own you have to spend money. Of course, I'm nowhere near the skill level in which practice would be a major concern. I dunno, just what the butt. Capitalism is such a scam, or perhaps the real coding website was the friends we made along the way.

If any of you happen to know any editing/viewing software (or sites) that are free to use, Please Let Me Know I Am Begging You.

Anyways, none if this is really that serious, just mildly frustrating lol. Thank you for reading, if you did!

I don't know about non-spacehey websites [or even much about HTML in general], but I use these two to live-code for my profile. Maybe they can help...?
