I don’t like how overwhelming it all is, how manipulative it can be, how it warps your perception of the world and how most people are, i hate how its ruining ur head just so some rich guy can have more money than u, i hate how it’s programmed to keep you in by messing with your emotions - one cute puppy vid or a funny post amongst the ai spew and pointless arguments and fear mongering, i hate endless scrolling, i hate how it tries to capitalize artistic hobbies as the end all goal of art in general, i hate how you’re seen as a dweeb for DARING to take breaks off of social media, i hate how every other post or vid HAS to sell you something and the product most of the time is just a waste.
I hate how popular it has become to be a hateful nihilistic nutsack that complains and does nothing to even find a simple solution for a problem, i hate how swollen with negativity its become since thats the only thing that seems to draw attention at all, i hate how im not allowed to pick and choose what to view because my entire experience on big social sites is all in the hands of some fuckin algorithm.
Social media (or just the general big web) feels like a little bug that hovers around me and keeps biting me, i’m genuinely so sick of it.

I like social media sometimes, but I dislike it when greedy owners choose profit over users and hiding everything behind a paywall.

Social media has DEFINITELY affected my imagination over the years. I remember making up scenarios in my head so long and complex that it was like a movie on its own and I played wherever part I wanted to before going to sleep.
Now, when I try to sleep, all that comes to my mind is what happened today, what could happen tomorrow, and maybe embarrassing things I might have done before.
Like, I don't even remember what I've seen in Instagram reels or whatever. Watching a TV show or a movie feels like a god damn chore. I'm not even going to talk about reading.

I used to wake up late at night to finish a novel...
It's not like I don't read anything at all right now - but I could totally use the 4-6 hours that goes to waste every day!

Social media has become crap, they should get rid of all the people who just want fame and sell you something, social media wasn't made for that and it ruined everything since it became a business, like YouTube before it was more authentic, real and fun, something like a hobby and now everything looks the same, same thumbnails, content, everything became like that for the money although people who dedicate their time to entertaining and authentic things deserve it, there are others who definitely don't.
