I hate the way you think about us

Sometimes I'm wondering what's going on inside of brain of a woman who isn't a girl's girl. Why don't they support another woman? 

I have this friend, let's call her "ICA". Ica and I have been friends since we were just in junior high school because we were classmates back then. We barely talk because we are busy with our own lives, she is working to provide for her family, while I am still going to school. Last time we talked, and she shared her life status and she's going through a lot but still okay despite all the burdens and problems. She tells me that she was raped by the guy that courting her, I was shocked because I didn't know that she was entertaining boys, because as far as I know she is lesbian. So, going back to the topic. How? They were drinking alcohol with her mom and they're drinking inside her house, yes, my friend's house. She and her mom are already drunk, so her mom already slept while my friend is sober. Her alcohol tolerance is very low that is why she's not drinking that much. So, the guy is not drunk yet, and he starts touching Ica. Ica keep on saying NO and she doesn't want to do that, but the guy keeps on resisting and harassing her. She's drunk so she can't fight back, and the guy didn't stop, and he did it. 

Seriously, I am deeply sad for my friend. She was raped but she never tells it to anyone, even from her own parents. The trauma and pain still lingering her until now. And just because she is a people pleaser, she let it pass. 

I hate the way you think

Me and my mom sometime talk about my friends, telling life updates about them since she knows them all. So, I tried telling Ica's problem to my mom and she was curious about the rapist and what's the context behind the abusive story of Ica. 

And guess what she said? 

"Why would she drink with a guy? Even you are drunk you still know what's happening. Maybe she wanted that." WTF

I get mad but I hide my expression.

Why would you blame the victim? She was harassed and abused when she's out of the state and you think that's still her fault? She is just woman and doesn't have energy to fight back that time because she's drunk, yet it's still her fault.

He should go to jail for that. He knows that Ica is weak that time, so he takes advantage and did a horrible thing. 

And I am sick the way my mom thinks about women. She's always blaming women when in fact she's also one of them. Why you keep on belittling us, Mom? 

You said that we are just meant to do household chores. To love and satisfy our partners. To stay at home and take care of our children and family. 

But you know what? You are wrong. 

Women. We are meant for something big. We are meant for something better than those. We didn't exist just to clean other's mess, no. We are not born just to love. We are not born just to be baby maker. We are not born just to satisfy men. We are so independent and smart. So, I'm sick when they think that love is only thing that we have. That love is the only thing that we can serve.  

I hope you stop belittling women just because you are thirsty for male validation.
