"resting" 1887 by antonio mancini: i really like the messy brushstrokes here, it kind of gives a contrast to the impression on the subject of resting, plus the woman looks like she has an agitated expression. her jaw is tight, and a left brow is turned downwards. the horizontal composition also emphasizes this, with the layout giving most the weight towards the left side, implying a sense of space that shouldn't feel confined but even so, it's cramped with some tension—maybe there's a person out of frame who is arguing with the woman? reminds me of when my parents fight lolz
