So, first off, I have no idea how your country's education system is like, so I won't give you country-specific advice. Second, I assume you're going to be a first-grader, not transfer.

Going to a new school is pretty liberating, when you think about it. You get to start with a blank slate, you can rebuild your whole social circle and social life if you play your cards right.
When it comes to making friends, be open-minded when talking to new people. Just be yourself, explore a bit, chat a bit with everyone you get the chance. You don't need to suck-up to everyone you meet or have extremely deep connections with the whole class, but being on good or neutral terms with people you spend 9 hours with each day will make your life easier.

To be completely honest with you, ultimately if you feel like your classmates will see you as weird, I assure you that people don't really care that much. They're too busy being just as stressed out as you are. Being a high schooler is pretty awkward. At this age everyone's cringe, so don't sweat it.

......................................................

When speaking of academics, don't stay up late for extended periods of time. I beg of you. Seriously. You're not going to perform well on 3 cans of monster energy and 5 hours of sleep through the whole week. You'll crash after 3 months. While you can take an emergency all-nighter now and then, don't do it regularly. Grades are not good enough reason to ruin your health.

If your bag is heavy due to overload of books, try to find someone to make a carrying-schedule with. For example, you bring maths textbook on Monday, and the other person brings it on Tuesday. Your spine will thank you.

Regular studying will make it easier to keep up with material, but you should prioritise certain subjects over others. Especially if you have systems as AP or Extended material or something of that kind. Most of the time, you'll only study for tests, rather than everyday classes.

Another thing is that what uni taught me which I wish someone had told me in high school is that a good grade, is a passing grade. Unless you REALLY want to get scholarship (which we could get in high school in my country, not sure how about yours). Not to mention, that in real life, grades don't really matter. What matters is scores in bigger exams if you take those (such as mid-terms or finals, SAT, Matura etc.).

The third thing is that the teachers can be a hit or miss, but you do NOT want to make enemies with any of them. Some of them can be extremely petty. Just put up with whatever BS they're doing as long as it's not illegal. Most of the time, their higher-ups won't really care about reports, and they'll learn about who said something bad about them a day through chit-chats.

I hope this will be of some help to you in some way. And if you have any questions, I'm more than happy to answer.

1. make sure you stay outta bad groups, because some people can be really fun but drag you down academically or other ways you know T.T
2. make friends with your teachers especially if they are mean/strict (but don't be a teachers pet/snitch!!!)
3. go to school events like dances (as many as you can)
4. walk fast in the hallways plz don't be the couple making out in the hallways either
5. friends>boyfriend/girlfriend (don't ditch your friends for someone/balance your relationships) :P
hope that helps good luck bro :,-)
