Enix is an ambulatory wheelchair user due to them having a super rare condition known as Idiopathic Cardiac Necrosis, or ICN. And yes, it is as severe as it sounds.
ICN is a super rare condition that causes numerous cells in an organ[in this case the heart] to be created with defective DNA, resulting in the cells tearing each other apart.
ICN can cause heart damage, excessive bleeding, blood pouring out of the eyes, nose and mouth, arrhythmia, anemia, and eventually, heart failure and death.
The condition is incurable and fatal, however, it can be treated using a combination of beta blockers[which prevents the heart from responding to epinephrine, slowing heart rate] NSAIDs, many forms of experimental medication, and a specialized pump unit that can help filter out bad cells.
Anyway, Enix's condition has been progressively getting worse since they were first diagnosed with the condition in 2011 at age 9.
In 2023, after years of constant stress, they collapsed during an operation in a pool of their own blood and was put into a 2 week coma.
They were able to recover, but their heart was significantly damaged, and developed symptoms similar to POTS, therefore, wheelchair.
They are able to walk, but only for a little bit on good days.
