Charmander is the superior choice

Fire, one of the base elements, not just in fictional but also the real universe is a powerful, destructive force. Kane, for example, has fire shoot from the turnbuckles when he slams his hands down, a show of destructive force, but also intense control of the base elemtents. 

Squirtle will be your biggest obstacle in life, much like The Undertaker was the greatest obstacle in the life of Kane. Without The Undertaker, their lives never would have been a public matter and would have remained a dark family secret. I could see this as a valid alternative to the true path of fire however it is a very flawed path of disrespect and depersonalization. 

Bulbasaur has a big dopey smile and little bugs eyes and is the choice for people like that. Bulbasaur is like the Boogeyman in wrestling, he is a complete joke who eats worms and nobody like him. Nobody wants their partner to be stinky, and we all know grass pokemon are by far the stinkiest pokemon.
