WHAT is happening with JOJO SIWA?

Who WAS Jojo Siwa before?

For me, this story about Jojo hit me like a punch in the gut. I've been her biggest fan when I was 8 years old. I knew all of her songs from the top of my head (and probably still do). I remember how I BEGGED my mom for Jojo Siwa bows and I ALWAYS wore my hair in a side ponytail. 

So, who is Jojo Siwa actually? And how did she gain popularity? 

Jojo Siwa made her first appearance in Dance Moms. Dance Moms is an incredibly toxic show about children who follow a strict dance program. I do not know alot about this show, since I never watched it, but I did watch alot of commentary YouTubers talk about Dance Moms. 

Honestly, I think that Dance Moms has fucked Jojo Siwa up, and I clearly see that in how she behaves, but I'll talk about that soon.

Later, Jojo Siwa made alot of appearances in Nickelodeon. A few examples are The Thundermans, Bizaardvak, and School of Rock. Obviously, she preformed at tons of Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards.

I mainly knew Jojo Siwa from her songs and YouTube videos. Oh, the good old days when I wished to be one of the kids she babysat...

Jojo's staple were obviously her bows and rainbows, so I already had a suspicion that she MIGHT be involved with the LQBTQ+. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with that, it was only 'scandalous', since she had a really young audience.

I found it funny that when I did research on Jojo Siwa, I found a Reddit post from about 8-9 years ago, where a woman displayed her concerns about Jojo, since she was already a grown girl, who made videos for young kids.

This reminds me of Ryan from Ryan's World. Do you remember that controversy? His parents are milking every drop of clout that they can get out of him, just like Jojo's mom did with Jojo. Do you think that Ryan MIGHT turn out like Jojo because of this?

Jojo Siwa's 'HUGE' break

"Dream guest on my podcast? Let's spice things up... One of my exes! Pfft!"

Everyone recognizes this 'quote'. This was around the time when the release of Karma was announced. I am pretty sure that this was after or still during the time of XOMG POP!, this is a girl group made by Jojo Siwa and her mom Jess Siwa in 2021.

I first heard of them by accident when I was mindlessly watching AGT (America's Got Talent) and judged all of the contestants, more then I am allowed to. Then,  Isaw this ADORABLE girl group XOMG POP!, yet something felt... Off about them. I didn't know why, until I saw Jojo's face. At the time, Jojo was... Tame, so I didn't think much of it. 

Until the cat got out of the bag.

Jojo Siwa (and Jess Siwa) have just... REINCARNATED Dance Moms. Y'know? Like, the really toxic one that left little girls grow up with trauma? Yeah, that one. But I think that Jojo and Jess took it WAY too far, even ignoring health issues of a young girl in the group. Luckily, XOMG POP! disbanded in late 2024.

Now, more about Jojo Siwa. Jojo was desperately trying to be an adult. I think it makes sense, since she NEVER had the chance to grow up, stuck with making videos for children.

But this was rather - as the public called it - cringe. There was a time where you COULDN'T ESCAPE her! All the commentary YouTubers talked about her, greenscreen people posting about it (y'know, where they point up to a picture of Jojo Siwa and talk about it), Jojo Siwa kept on posting her dance and her being 'drunk'.

And when Karma finally released, everyone made fun of it. I heard it SO MANY times, that still to this day, you can catch me singing "Thou shall not lie... Thou shall not cheEAAaat..". The thing was, that her music video was rather... Crude. So were her on stage preformances. Licking stuff, grinding, etc.

I found it SO CRINGE when Jojo found out that she was Polish. As a Polish girl, I was so ashamed to have to explain to my friends that Polish people DO NOT claim her. I listened to Jojo singing Karma in Polish yesterday... And one comment stood out to me: "This is not Polish, this is nailpolish" and I 100% agree.

A huge part about her identity was the LQBTQ+ (they did not claim her AT ALL). She even claimed that she 'made' a new music genre: Gay pop. 

She couldn't possibly change her mind... Right?

CHEATING Jojo Siwa!? ... Turned into a HOUSEWIFE?

Jojo Siwa joined this show Celebrity Big Brother. It's basically that celebrities live together (?) and get watched 24/7 on live tv. Jojo and a certain man, Chris Hughes, were really.. Cozy together. REMEMBER: Jojo had a girlfriend at the time! 

Jojo and Chris were cuddling, kissing, licking off chocolate on ones pants, dressed in furry suits and peeing into cat litter... Yep. Alot of weird stuff.

So, Jojo was basically cheating on her girlfriend on live tv! Later, Jojo broke up with her girlfriend right after the tv show (?). Jojo got with Chris. Wait... A STRAIGHT RELATIONSHIP? Wasn't being a lesbian a HUGE part in Jojo's new brand?

Well, that brand is now old, which was proven by the countless couple videos Chris and Jojo posted and Jojo's most recent cover song: Bette Davis Eyes. It sounded HORRIBLE, as though she has been smoking for 20 years or so!

But, the point is, is that the way she dressed and did her makeup and hair looked awfully like a 60's housewife. The short curled hair, the dress, red lipstick. It all reseblied something that Jojo was definetely not something her brand not so long ago defied.

Conclusion

I am really curious about how this plays out. What song will Jojo Siwa release after Bette Davis Eyes? What will this mean for her brand? And most importantly: Why is her singing and dancing SO bad even though her whole life revolved around these two?
