So I haven't wrote a blog in MONTHS omg!11!!
I haven't even finished the one before this, I lowkey just gave up on it lmao. Plus I have a life (WHAT!!!!)
I usually don't write blogs and stuff during school, i usually write my blogs in school breaks because now I'm free and bored as hell...so yapping time !!111!1
Today I'm gonna yap about my music taste (shocker, I know ^O^)
My music taste as got to be the most random thing ever but it also not?? I currently listen to three main genres and listen to a lot of random stuff. The three main genres and emo, scene and goth (that's why I label myself as a scenemo baby bat which has got to be one of the weirdest alternative labels ever). ANYWAYS!
Lately, (by lately I mean like April or smth so not very ''late'') I've been trying to listen to real emo music because I felt like a poser for liking only a few real emo songs...and I have succeeded!!!!!!! I don't know THAT much real emo music, I'm still not a mega fan of that genre but okay and you know, people still debate on whether some of them are actually emo or not (JUST LET PEOPLE LISTEN TO MUSIC OH MY GOD). Like I see so many posts and stuff that are like ''''emos'' when someone tells them ptv and mcr aren't real emo'' like GOD FORBID a person who is still learning stuff about their alternative subculture i guess. Like last year I thought I was emo for like ptv and sws because guess what!!!! I WAS NEW TO THE SUBCULTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways, I do listen to emo music the type that is real (rites or spring, embrace, orchid, i hate myself) and the type that magazines from the 2000s say is emo (my chemical romance, fall out boy, paramore, panic! at the disco, the academy is...)
Enough with ranting about feeling like a poser and what's real emo and what's not, let's talk about scene!!
So scene is also a pretty confusing subculture especially if you're new to the subculture because some people are saying it's music based some others say it's fashion based...but at least it's fun? (I feel like such a big poser right now oh my god) I personally think it's a lifestyle which means it's both music based and fashion based and it follows the beliefs of almost every other alternative subculture out there (no racism, no sexism, etc...). But we're here now to talk about scene music which is split into three groups; crunkcore, neon and post-hardcore. Crunkcore is extremely overhated mostly for it's slightly inappropriate lyrics (popular crunkcore artists are Brokencyde, Millionaires and Dot Dot Curve). Neon is not really the official name for this type of scene music I'm gonna talk about right now but I've heard many people say it so I'm just gonna call it that now...anyways, neon seems more liked and it's artists like Cobra Starship. It has a little more pop in it than crunkcore and has less ''controversial/inappropriate'' lyrics. Post-hardcore is in both the scene and emo subculture but I'm pretty sure it's mostly scene although the edgy emo kids from the 2000s/2010s used to listen to it a lot too so yeah! (Some popular post-hardcore bands are attack attack!, Black Veil brides and pierce the veil). Some people also consider some metalcore bands like Bring Me The Horizon scene (especially the album su!c!de season) and bands like Msi scene too!!
I feel like I changed the whole point of this blog lol. Basically all the things I mentioned I listen to them, you guys might be thinking ''ermm what's so diverse and weird about that parabiter??1!?!?!?'' It gets weirder trust.
Now we talked about emo and scene now we're gonna talk about goth!!!11!! So, I'm a baby bat, in other words, a new goth. So I don't know that many goth bands and facts about the goth subculture (DUH) I just know the basic goth bands, my personal favourites are joy division, the cure and strawberry switchblade. Strawberry switchblade isn't really considered as a mainstream goth band but yeah!!
Now, that we talked about the basic genres I listen to let's also talk about the other ones that I listen to a little less.
1) Pop- Pretty basic, I know but I have a sort of picky taste in pop music, I kinda of dislike modern pop music but Chappell Roan, Conan Gray, Beabadoobee and Beach Bunny are my only exceptions (Paramore ref...heh...). Just because I don't really like modern pop music doesn't mean I would beef with people who like it, everyone has their own preferences in music and that's totally fine :3 I also like the pop music from the 2000s but unfortunately most of them are problematic now :((
2) Indie- I'm not a huge fan of indie but some artists from this genre just really hit. MITSKI OH MY GOD MITSKSISISISISJSIDIHEFJBHJNJERNN...mitski is a great example of the artist who hit but idk though...The young veins MIGHT be indie I'm not really sure though, the killers are also great and uhhh florence & the machine!!!1!!!
3) Britpop- Idk if Gorillaz is really considered as britpop but I really like them, blur, oasis, pulp, coldplay (OLD COLDPLAY) is fire!!!!
4) Grunge- Also not a huge fun of grunge but Nirvana and Hole are amazing aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
5) Rock in general- There's so many types of rock like whatatatagts Weezer is rock and they're amazing, the smashing pumpkins too uhm Waterparks???
6) Nu metal- I love nu metal so much too, like Linkin Park is amazing aaaaaa so is System Of A Down
In conclusion, I can go from Millionaires to Bullets For My Valentine to The Young Veins to Gorillaz to Mitski to Paramore to Linkin Park to Weezer to Waterparks to The Dresdent Dolls to Joy Division to Fall Out Boy to Green Day to Chappell Roan to Blur to Brokencyde to Evanescence and the list goes on and on...
I hope y'all enjoyed this because it was made for you to enjoy it lol
BYEEEEE!!!
