so i have a graphics hoard but i recently found out that one of my source sites is shutting down. thisll mean a ton of broken links u_u this prompted me to save all my graphics onto my flash drive, same w/ the graphics from the site thats about to shut down, specifically this one
saved to my flash drive, i can upload them to my photodump tumblr acc, where i can use my own tumblrstyle image addresses for my graphics hoard. its kind of weird but theyve been reliable 4 me so far, thats how i do all my pics especially here
(tho if any1 knows a better way, hmu!)
its been tedious but luckily easy, and i will def get both sites done b4 august 20th. what worries me is that i have a LOT of source sites... what if those shut down too, and what if i dont get a warning for them?
its made me think a lot abt how we dont rlly own anything on the internet. companies can jank up the products we paid for or downloaded, like games being intentionally run 2 the ground bc its company doesnt feel like caring abt it anymore, or being coerced into buying premium plans bc the free version is getting worse and worse to use (*cough cough* spotify *cough)
things like piracy and physical media are being held in higher regard as we realize how little companies care more 4 profit margins and ip addresses than actual customer experiences. we even see this in movies, like the Lilo and Stitch remake, the Snow White remake, the new Smurfs movie... who r these being made for? theyre not bein made 4 ppl who want a good movie. and dont even get me started on ai generated content.
life is such a fuck. and thats just talking abt tech and art.
my advice: use an mp3 player instead of fuckass spotify. save movies and tv shows and yt vids to a flashdrive. find hacks and shortcuts to get past paywalls and forced sign-ins. u deserve a positive internet experience but you will have to curate it urself.
of course its not all doom and gloom. the newest Superman movie and The Substance from a while back are fantastic films, and real art wont die no matter how hard ai bros and major companies stab it in the heart. but those r just my thoughts for the day

You could use catbox.moe for image hosting! Also, from the way you describe losing images due to the other site going down, it sounds like you might have been "hotlinking" these images. Please know that this is sometimes discouraged by website owners, as it takes energy from the linked site https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inline_linking (this discouragement does not apply to filehosting services like catbox)
Also, I believe that something may be wrong with your graphics hoard website...clicking on things always redirects me to suspicious links <:{
I really love your graphics collection! You have a huge amount of stuff, and I love everything you've said about how we don't really own anything anymore. I've been saving my stuff to an external hard drive for a while now, and it's been a great experience. Keep on keeping on! :D
thanks for the advice! i've seen catbox around, i'll give it a shot. hopefully its more reliable than tumblr, but everythings saved to a flashdrive anyway
i didnt know hotlinking was discouraged 0_0 i havent seen my sources discouraging it luckily but i'll keep it in mind 4 the future
and yeahhh im so sorry about the suspicious sites that pop up u_u its party of Rentry's coding, so i cant do anything about it. luckily its not as bad as ur average pirating site but its still annoying to deal with
