The Sims 2 is really good + My own neighbourhood

I wasn't old enough to have played the PC version, but I remember playing The Sims 2 Pets for the PSP and Castaway, plus that other PSP one where your car breaks in Strangetown.

Whatever, I've playing it for some weeks now and I have the Ultimate Collection that EA used to give for free years ago with all expansion packs and stuff packs.

The game is somewhat nostalgic for me, but I'm not playing it for nostalgia points, but because the game itself is pretty good. And no, I'm not a fan of drama and I don't pay much attention to the "lore" of the game (in the premade neighbourhoods), and I don't like seeing my Sims suffer because I'm that benevolent. XP

I already have some families in premade neighbourhoods, but I decided to create my own neighbourhood with its own story. It's called Sparkling Town, and it was founded by Bonnie White, a fabulous, money-loving diva, and her caring, artistic husband, Day White. They currently have a toddler named Winter White because he was born in winter.

Today I created a very kind but very disorganized sim called Lara Delight and she has the Pleasure life aspiration, which means she wants to live the good, high life. I turned half of her property into a hangout spot that other sims pay to use and stay in. The entrance fee is 10§ and she charges 10 more per hour (game mechanics only allow charging per hour).

So yeah... It's an old game, but it's still very good. :)

The Sims 2 is great! I played it religiously when I was in school, creating custom 'hoods is so much work but so fun

If you ever want to play a premade one tho I recommend Strangetown, the aliens make it very chaotic :D

I agree! TS2 has been a fav of mine. ^_^

I played a bit of Strangetown because it's the one I remember the most, but never got too lucky with aliens (also, I don't how they look, they're a bit ugly).

The only green sims I really enjoy are the plant sims. They're really cute and well... THEY'RE PLANTS. I LOVE PLANTS.

Sparkling Town is actually going great. In another blog entry, I talk a bit more about what happened to its eccentric inhabitants.

When I get a PC I’ll definitely be getting The Sims2. The details alone are worth a play! :D

Totally agree. All the details, for the ambient sounds, to the textures and actions sims do when they're cooking, their reactions to turn ons and turns offs, even just the whole 2000s vibe, I think it's all very charming.

I hope you get a PC soon and enjoy TS2 as well. :P
