3 day car ride to Türkiye (Part 1)

We officially left my neighbourhood. The four of us. My father, me, my younger brother and younger sister. Dutch🇳🇱 roads are known to be exceptionally well constructed, so driving till we reached Germany was comfortable as always. It took us about an hour and a half to reach the Dutch-German border, and we drove a straight line from one edge of the country to another. Just picture how small this country is!

After passing the border, at 22.30 which was different from the years before because polizei were checking every car for illegal immigrants, I realized I couldn’t listen to music because my mother had installed this app where she can control my phone and she had locked my phone using it. I also don’t have any wifi, so we will have to do it without my phone. That means I am writing this on my Ipad. What does suck though, is that it means I also have to use my Ipad to take pictures and that just isn’t practical. I do have a digital camera but in order to get the photos I took with that I would need to convert it, something I can’t do in Türkiye because I don’t have a laptop and card reader with me.

While driving in Germany 🇩🇪 during the night, we saw two cargo trucks carry a windmill propeller. That thing was HUGE!! I thought it was a plane wing at first Xd. It did kind of scare me a bit but thankfully we were able to pass it safely. I tried taking a picture of it, using my digital camera and this is what came out:

This wouldn’t have happened if I was able to use my phone.

Seriously, we are only 9 hours in and I already feel incredibly chopped. Maybe I should get some sleep. After all, I had to wake up early yesterday to go to the denist to tighten my braces, then work for 5 hours and then immedially after get ready to leave. Then pulled an all nighter because the backseat is crampy AF!! My sister keeps taking up the entire place, and she is able to sleep peacefully.

We went in an tankstation for a break. Afterwards we went in the shop and that's where I met the cutest little guy I've ever laid my eyes upon.

SERIOUSLY JUST LOOK AT HIM.

It had a hard torso and head but its legs were saggy so IT CAN SIT ON YOUR HAND!!!!!

Bro I wanted that thingy so bad. :(( But it was 17 EUROS!!

In what universe do you expected me to pay that much?? Okay it's way better than the stuff at pop mart but still I just took a picture of it and hope to find it online for cheaper.

Not gonna lie I kinda regretted not buying it...

Omg I just found lil bro on Amazon.

But it's out of stock -_-

And if I look at other images they don't look like him at ALL.

Welp, that means I'll have to get one when we get back to the Netherlands 🇳🇱.

Dobrodosli! We're in Slovenia 🇸🇮.

Up until now we always entered Slovenia during nighttime, but now, we're in the middle of the day. We also used to go to the MCdonalds in Maribor to fill our stomachs but we didn't do that this time because we boycott.

Oh, seems like we entered Croatia 🇭🇷 a long time ago, lol! I tried to sleep for a bit but I think I only managed to actually sleep for 15 minutes total. My eyes are totally drooping.

Oof. Negative canthal tilt prey eyes with heavy eyelid exposure. It's so over.

We stopped at a tanking station for the 50th time.

I used this chance to comb my hair and change my clothes. We are now outside, eating pohça and other things. Basically holding a picknick. 

Thank God I changed my clothes. My mario shirt feels so much nicer than my tight pink shirt. Bro I love super mario so much. My favorite character is shy guy!! ^w^

Okay, we're back at driving. My younger sisters' phonk music is blasting through the car. I personally don't listen to that genre but not gonna lie, the heavy bass combined with how fast we are going on the highway is lowkey a vibe. >_<

Gosh. We are entering Serbia in an hour. And that's where the REAL border controls begin. Up until now we could just pass without showing our ID's/Passports, but now we actually need to stay alert..

My father also keeps reminding us that we are getting closer to the Serbian border as if that's something awful, and not gonna lie I'm actually starting to fall for that propaganda. I mean, our experiences with Serbia weren't as bad as our experiences with Bulgaria or Montenegro, or even the Greece-Türkiye border, but it's still a reminder that the awful ID, other travel documents and car trunk checks are starting.
