The Sea

Went swimming in the sea today. The weather's been really hot the past couple of days, and I decided to go down to the beach where I live to see what treasures I could find, but when I arrived, I noticed there was no one there! Awesome! So I went on scouring the shores for treasures when I looked up and out into the water. No stinging jellyfish! I took a step into the rocky waters, and it was so pleasantly warm. It was too perfect an opportunity; I couldn't let it go to waste.

I ran home at full speed, changed, and grabbed my towel and dog (and my mum) and off we went. Down at the beach again, I went out on the docks and began jumping into the water, swimming around, and enjoying the momentary reprieve from the heat. I'm generally not one for swimming in the sea, at least not in shallow waters where there's seaweed. (It's slippery, and you can't see where you're stepping. No, thank you.)

My mother stayed by the shore with the dog, letting him play in the shallow waters while I enjoyed my swim. After 20 minutes I felt that I was finished and so climbed out of the water and headed back towards the inland. On our way back from the beach, we saw person after person heading down; it'd really been the perfect moment for a calm swim without disruption. :)
